Need Help

So, something weird happened. I logged into my alt, after having not been on RS for a couple of hours, and I saw in chat it said my main had logged out.

It was kind of just there from the instant I signed in, it didn't appear as if someone was actually on it...however I hadn't been on my main in 2 hours.

However, that's still really strange, isn't it? I immediately tried to log-in to my main "last logged in 3 days ago from RS3- so it wasn't touched there. Last logged in earlier today in 07, which was me an hour or so before this.

So wtf? My friend who was online the whole time said he's 99 percent sure he didn't see me online, and my character wasn't moved.

But what could have possibly caused this? Anyone else ever go through anything similar? I f_king hate how Jagex got rid of the thing that shows last logged in IP, as that would have quelled any fears immediately if someone else had legitimately been on my account.

Prety worried I'm compromised now :l. Any advice on a way I can find out how this happened? I'll scan my 2 computers.

Literally nothing happened, but I've literally never seen this issue before where i log into one account and it tells me in chat one of my own has logged out, which makes it scarier cuz if someones hacking me that knows me personally, they see my alt log in and then subsequently log out of my main..yet nothing was moved or touched. SO idk what to make of it. Yes, I'm inherently paranoid lol. The good news is only 2 possible people on earth would know my alt and log out accordingly, if that was what they were doing...so the odds are slim to none.

The odds are high it was just a freak glitch...but I'm still worried. And I cant activate Authenticator cuz I don't have a smart phone

 

TBH im pretty sure it was just a glitch, but if not maybe you can notify jagex by emailing them to ask what the ip was that was logged in at that time, to quell any fears you may have.

 

Appreciate the response man, yeah I'm like 90 percent sure it's a glitch...but still worried tbh. Really wish Jagex never removed the IP option.

I can't find anywhere on the site to send them a support ticket, any ideas?

 

change your password just incase some hackers actually check to see if theirs bank pins and stuff on it and if their is they just log out quickly. but ot be on the safe side i would change my pass."

and sometimes logins, can be glitched happened to me a few times and i got pretty freaked out and changed my pass.

 

Changed my password.
Changed my registered email (since 2 step wasn't available on it). Added 2-step verification to newly registered email.
Added Authenticator with WinAuth + password protected it + made it only available to get codes on my 1 computer.

Should be secure now.

 

Bump- A few more questions that need answering:
1: If I have authenticator + email with 2 step verification (need text message code every time to sign into email), are there any other ways to further secure my account?
2: What type of virus software do you all use? I am currently running a full system scan with Kaspersky Internet Security (the latest version). The short scan found 0 problems. I plan on doing a Malware Bytes scan as well probably.
3. I only plan on playing on my 1 PC from now on, which I plan to make sure it's fully clean of any malicious programs, just in case, and I have WinAuth password protected, so I literally don't see any way a hacker could fully hack me (they could change pass if it got compromised but wouldn't be able to login- my email requires a text message code like I said, and my rs account requires a code for login too, from Winauth, which is encrypted to only work on my computer)

This is all precautionary, but I take that probable glitch as a sign to heavily improve my accounts security, just in case.

 

1: Not really. It sounds more like a glitch anyways. But you're secure enough like that. Maybe link your account to your Facebook?

 

I've had this happen to me a few times after I log off on my main and go on a alt 5 mins later, I wouldn't worry about it.

 

I hadn't been on for like 1 hour, but this relieves me a bit.
