    Python 2.6 (Saving Scripts)

I am using Windows Vista. When I save a script like "example.py" with the drop down menu set to Python file, the file shows up as a white page and when i try to launch it by double-clicking it asks me to choose a program to run the file.

I have tried naming the script as "example" and setting the drop down menu to "Python file" and I have tried saving it as "example.py" and setting the drop down menu to just "file"

How do i fix it so i can double click the script so it runs?

Try running this in command prompt:
    Code:
    assoc .py=Python.File
OR try this: (can't tell if this is what you're referring to)
Right Click -> Open With -> Select Python + Look for "always open this with that" (something similar) -> press okay
