To be honest Id go with granite, I did it from 45-50 and personally found it way faster than iron. Then only downside is you need waterskins, which could be slightly annoying if you let it run out.

 

Iron, I would say just keep mining + dropping or banking ..

 

Umm isnt there a tiara from some quest... like contact or scabaras - where u use water runes on it and u dont get affected by the heat?

 

Yeah man, go to that one place south of that village where you steal shit from guards and stalls and shit. There are like iron and coal man... Mine that shit man.

But seriously, do the Scarabas quest, get the water tiara, and powermine granite in the desert.

 

i say either powermine with iron, or powermine with granite but you have to be wearing that tiara thingy
