    Infractions

Simple suggestion Basically a Mod should at least warn a user before giving them infractions. Granted if the user has been spamming the thread for pages then indeed infract them on the grounds of outright spamming.

This suggestion was prompt due to skele infracting on http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?p=7286836#post7286836

Just the other day if i recall a off topic warned me before the infraction it's easy for a user to drift off and spam slightly.

Also if your handing out infractions you might as-well infract this guy also http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=928589&page=2

    the guy shazams.

Yes i do know infractions do wear off and aren't as serious as i'm probably making it out to be. It's the idea as a whole that counts I'm definitely not saying don't infract users or give warnings before every infraction sure some users deserve it as i said. Some users who actually contributed to the thread and posted off topic once isn't horrible.

An infraction is a warning. They go away eventually and it takes several of them till it builds up to temp bans. No support

I know but what if the user was only 1 infract from a temp?

I stated they do go away everyone knows that the point being what stated above if your on-topic most of the thread and you happen to post off topic once it shouldn't really warrant a infraction

Infractions are just to show what you done wrong...

Thats why you can see them on your Profile,

    Thats the Point of infractions.

If you get 5 Infractions for spamming then a 3 day temp is nothing after the first you should have learnt not to spam..

Just for reference, warnings can only be given for avatar violation unless the staff member is a global moderator or above. We felt that the increased amount of infractions needed for a ban was sufficient enough to cover the removal of warnings.

Honestly, I can't support due to just because if you do get an infraction, the smartest thing to do is just to reply back to it and ask why it was given to you and to try and talk it out with whoever gave it to you. If that does not work, then you should PM an admin or another Mod about it.

Infractions are supposed to be warnings. Infractions mean nothing. Its like getting 5 warning, then you get a ban.

And the ban is only 3 days, so it's not that long of a wait, to be quite honest with you.

I was given 2 infraction in past 2 days. PM'd both mods asking what I did wrong and none have replied yet.

Have you tried PMing a Global or perhaps asking in the IRC?

I don't see the point in PMing global since they were not the one who infracted me. I pm'd the 2 mods who infracted me and none have replied even though they have been online. And I do not use IRC

The point is for them to help you out since the mods you initially PM'ed have been ignoring you and not doing their job.

I just wanted to say this is a poor post in general. A few syntax and grammatical errors, when you suggested Shazams be infracted you linked the whole page 2 instead of the specific post (displays laziness), etc.

Anyways, I believe this is more of a topic about your infraction than it is the infraction system itself.

    This.

Infractions expire after a month, and don't take them as being too detrimental. Some moderators have pages upon pages of infractions, and look where they are? Don't sweat it, and learn from your previous posts.

Sorry for posting this after you requested it be locked, i've also reported it. Hope this thread delivered the answer you were looking for unto you.
