I like the ge for the convenience of being able to buy items all in one place. But I also hate it because Jagex can now directly control the prices of anything if they wanted to.

You can basically flip anything. I used to flip glories for a good profit every 4 hours.

 

I like that grand exchange is the only place where people sell things, before there was a ton of banks that had people selling and sometimes I had to visit them all to find a seller.

 

I liked the old bank system, it had a sense of.. humanity to it, I don't know. If it's automated, it's no fun. Even though trying to get into worlds 1 and 2 used to be annoying, it was still something that I miss.

And there wasn't really much of confusion, main trading places would be falador world 2 for p2p and varrock west (shit I forgot the directions) bank world 1. And there would be like specific places, like next to the bank in falador people traded runes, the upper end behind the fence in the park was the whip section, then in the middle was barrows item, etc. Fun times.

 

2 Main reasons I use GE:
1. To quickly buy items needed for quests
2. G.E is the only place that will swap my sets for items or swap items for sets to save bank space

 

Investing requires the prices to be driven solely by supply & demand and not by time and world; hence, investment never really existed before the introduction of the G.E in the late 2007.

You can expect investing to be dead with the free trade update and flipping will become very popular.
