I like the emo acoustic punk like Taking Back Sunday.

 

@nodnarbusn I think you'd dig Fugazi, highly recommended.

 

I love fugazi, excellent post hardcore. I probably dig Minor Threat more but fugazi is undeniably awesome. What other stuff you into?

 

lol when I was REALLY into punk I had sooo much weird shit. I'd need to find my old old ipod to begin listing off a lot of them since I never saved all of it. I mean if you can name it I've probably listened to it though.

I'm charging my current ipod to see if I put anything on there.

But yeah since you like Fugazi, you'll probably dig The Mars Volta's last album Noctourniquet, it's a wonderfully dark and thought provoking album.

Used to listen to Rise Against all day. My interest in punk has faded down over the years, but I still love that band.

 

Cool early footage of the Dolls in 73. Found a bunch of the Old Grey Whistle Test footage had been redone and am super excited. Lots more chit en route.

 

completely forgot anout toy dolls going to have to listen to them now.

 

Toy Dolls were apart of that weird "Punk Pathetique" scene in the UK. Basically goofy Oi! The Adicts and Peter and the Test Tube Babies get lumped in as well. Cool shit.

Ever listen to INDK ? Its the other band that was started out of Choking Victims demise, Ezra is the front man. Its a little more on the "hardcore" side of things but still retains a familiar sound.



This is pretty much an LOC song lol.

I dont listen to much Celtic styled punk these days, though I do fancy the mandolin. Pogues and a few others still get occasional play.



These guys just made a new album recently (not this one). Not sure of their genre, maybe folk punk?

 

I never listened to INDK but from the sound I like chocking/loc more, I saw loc came out with a new album too



good album imo I'm not sure if I like it as much as the other 3 that I know of though.

 

Stza wears me out. I enjoyed Nico era SFH but dont care for her cartoonish replacement, new LOC album is OK.

 

I thought that at the start too after a few listens the new album grew on me but I can see why people do not think it is that good.

Whoa, didnt know Refused got back together. Always considered them a post-hardcore band myself, but I suppose that fits here too! Digging the jazzy influence on some of the tracks, going to have to pick it up.

Chocking Victim is getting back together, squattas paradise lineup so no Ezra. Still pretty badass!

I've been all over the place here lately, saw a great French band Rixe a while back and have been corresponding with a member and he has been giving me the low down on some great French bands.


Tolbiac's Toads is probably my favorite he has passed on to me so far.

Just discovered Laughing Clowns, realllly cool.
@T V Have you heard of James Chance, I think you might dig him. His band The contortions were really cool too..

Fucking love this album. Classified as hardcore punk, but I'm not an expert

 

Shame the singer is a pedophile. They're definitely more HXC than legitimate hardcore punk imo, lots of stuff with that sound up north in the states. We call it tough guy HC as thats pretty much the entirety of its subject matter.

 

He did get kicked from the band after the incident thou. Even if it was a while after they were last active
