CM Punk joins UFC

I don't follow wrestling anymore, but this story was pretty interesting to me. How do you think he will do in the octagon?

 

36 yrs old and fighting full speed in something that isn't staged

I don't think he'll fare too well although no doubt he'll have decent conditioning

 

^^ 36 isn't too old for UFC, isn't Silva about 45+?

none the less, probably not very well, even someone of Brock Lesnar's physicality struggled to adjust if I remember.

 

Really? I confess to not knowing much about UFC but I'd have assumed that like most other professional sports they would be dropping off 30-35 ish onwards

Also - @ Aria - Brock Lesnar was a BEAST in the octagon. He had health problems derail his short career in the octagon, but he is so massive that if he got on top of you, you were finished. Him destroying Frank Mir in that rematch with just brute strength was astonishing. Once he lost to Overeem (who was juiced out of his head and banned not long after), he hung it up. But man, if he did it at A: A younger age and B: was healthy....he'd have been a fking beast man.

 

Yeah I really hope he gets trained well enough before he steps into the octagon. Sounds like he's set up for failure

 

I fucking hated brock lesnar. Funny you talk about someone else juicing but not him. Brock Lesnar is a poster child for HGH abuse.

He fared pretty well in the ring by sheer strength and size, but was not all that entertaining a fighter imo.

CM will be interesting. He IS quick. I think him on TUF would be really interesting.

 

I'm just talking about people that have actually been caught. If Lesnar gets caught I won't cut him any slack. If you have legit sources of HGH abuse I'd be interested to see it.

Not sure how well his WWE days will help him with this one.

None the less, will be interesting to see if he can support himself in the octagon. 36 years old isn't too shabby for a UFC fighter. Will be a little late to the party but should work things out.

 

I think its more publicity than anything. He won't fare to well at all I just hope he doesnt get himself seriously injured.

 

He's gonna get fucked up. Lesnar has his wrestling background which stood him in good stead. Punk's starting from fresh... Good luck, Punk.

 

As big as a CM Punk fan as i am i dont feel he will do well. Brock had good amateur wrestling experience behind him whereas Punk is only a professional wrestler and doesnt have the toughness for it in my opinion.

But i could be wrong because he wouldnt do it without being confident.
