Honestly, if you're planning on buying one I would do some actual research on the web and not just rely on some opinions of Sythe users.

Anyway, I've owned an iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and an iPhone 6 Plus (alongside a Moto X and a Droid Razr) in the past 2 years and I really like the iPhone 6. I wouldn't spend $600-700 on it, but I had no problem with $300.

The biggest difference is definitely the screen. It's why the 6/Plus was such a big deal, it is drastically different and further increases the size from the 5. It has a faster processor (every year each phone they release will), but as for actual features it's just iOS 8. Saying so, it's not all that different from any other iOS device running iOS 8.

There's resizability which I really like (kinda drops your phone screen halfway down so you can reach something w/o shifting your hand.) I'm not sure if Apple Pay is exclusive to the 6, or if the earlier iPhones support it. There's also a zoomed feature to make the entire iPhone icons and such bigger, really only useful if you have bad vision. The camera is of course better, the phone is thinner, and the battery life is better. It's pretty much what you expect from a new iteration of anything.

If you're not sold on iOS, there are plenty of Android phones that can give an iPhone 6 a run for it's money, but I do enjoy my iPhone 6 (if I didn't I'd get rid of it and find a new phone tbh.)

I have an iPhone 6, I don't think any phone is worth 600$ no matter how good it is. I got mine with a free upgrade, so I can't comment on the $/value, but most high-end phones are around the same price range. I don't like Android interface so I'm a little bias, but if you like iOS go for it

The iPhone 6 is definitely a solid phone, and I use it a lot for taking care of business etc.

I have never been a fan of the iPhone. I have had a few friends with them and even the ones that would dig up Steve Jobs just to suck his rotting dick would rather have one of the new Samsung, once they actually use one.

It is easy to hate something that you haven't used or tried. If you are set on an iPhone I would go for the 6 Plus just for the display and extra shit they added. I have always been a fan of the bigger screen, and have owned the note 3 and 4. The 6 plus is a bit smaller than the Note 4.

Here is part of a report I wrote last semester - hope it helps

A lot of blind hatred is held by all sides of phone users and can often push you away from choosing the phone that you really should. All devices perform horribly on low end hardware and always leave you wanting more, so going for quality with a slightly higher price tag is usually the way to go. If you need a phone for work, BlackBerry, iOS, Android and Windows phones are all pretty even. The BlackBerry hub makes it great for those with lots of different accounts and communication apps, while Windows Phone has Microsoft Office pre-installed to open and edit all of those documents on the go. Both iOS and Android offer other word processing apps that allow you to get some work done as well.

Android - Android’s customization is great; you can essentially change every part about your device to make it look and act exactly how you want. Whether it be a simple wallpaper or add widgets over your whole home screen, Android will let you do it but it can also be a bit of an issue when it comes to the ease of use. Settings can be hard to find; the back button can mean different things in different apps and the pop-up screen that asks you to pick what app you want to open can be overwhelming.

Any iPhone user will know that familiar feeling of searching for a power source before the end of the day, something most modern Android phone users don’t have to worry about with large battery capacities and ultra power saving mode which shuts off every part of your phone except for the main features such as calls, texts, and it even turns your screen black and white for hours of extra battery life. Some android phone features like Samsung and Sony’s waterproof designs help separate them from the iPhone. The google play store is another cool feature for android phones and brings games, books, apps, and more to your phone but is more relaxed with security since anyone can publish an app onto the store.

Apple - While Android might have nearly all the apps that iOS does, they aren’t as secure as they are in Apple’s App Store; apps are checked out before they are approved, limiting the amount of useless imitation apps and ones filled with malware. If you pay for songs, movies, and other entertainment the iOS is still on top when it comes to that, with the iTunes store having a much bigger library of music and video, while a lot of mobile games launch on iOS before making their way to Android. If you aren’t especially technologically literate, Apple’s iOS is for most people easier to use. It’s simply a grid of apps, with all your settings in one place. To use it, you tap what you want to open and then to go back you press the home button not unlike any other phone.

iPhone vs. Samsung: Battle of the Phablets

On the larger scale of phones currently being classified as phablets (Phone+Tablet=Phablet) that have over a 5-inch screen, a few stand above the rest as the top ranking phones. These include Samsung’s entire line of Notes which started the craze, beginning with the original Note and after a few tweaks here and there along the line they came out with the Note 3 being at this time last year the best smartphone on the market and more recently the Note 4 competing for the title. In the other corner we have the iPhone 6 plus now being drooled over after previous years of iPhone users complaining of the size of other 5+ inch screens (hypocritical?), but now that they have something comparable; the curtain of the eyes is lifted and once again they can see what is in its class, one of the top phablets.

On October 17 Samsung released the 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 4. Its screen displays more pixels per inch than any other display that they have ever made, giving the user a great image. It includes a 3.7 MP front facing camera and a 16 Megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization to help with those shaking hands. As compared to Samsung’s past phones made from cheaper plastic. It has a metal frame and a stylus that feels more like a real ballpoint pen on paper for better and more fluid note taking. Some accessories for it include the Samsung Gear. The battery is 3220 mAh giving 37 hours of talk time, 12 hours of video play time, 80 hours of music, or 11 hours of Internet usage. It includes a new heart rate monitor as first introduced with the Galaxy S5 and measures your pulse, your stress and even your oxygen level. It can also be used as a universal remote, has 3 GBs of RAM, and has a Snapdragon 805 CPU that's fast enough for the most demanding games to allow you to utilize the multi-application windows. The cost of the Note 4 is $300.

The iPhone 6 Plus measures 5.5 inches and is the best and biggest phone that apple has ever made. Although there are few differences from the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch 6 Plus. The plus has OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), a non-removable 2915 mAh battery, NFC capable, fingerprint sensor, and has Apple’s new payment system branded Apple Pay. Its sizes come in 16 GB ($300), 64 GB ($399), and 128 GB ($499) and offers no expandable memory.

Those are the main points from what I have written in the past, here is a chart of the different iPhones and their specs to finish this off.

    Phone iPhone 5c / iPhone 5s / iPhone 6 / iPhone 6 Plus
    Height 4.9 / 4.9 / 5.4 / 6.2
    Width 2.3 / 2.3 / 2.6 / 3.1
    Depth 0.4 / 0.3 / 0.3 / 0.3
    Weight 4.7 / 4 / 4.5 / 6.1
    Digital Zoom - 3MP each
    Mega Pixels - 8MP each
Expandable Memory - No on all
NFC Capable No / No / Yes / Yes
