Why I quit Rainbow Six Seige (diamond level)(XB1)

So I just wanted to share a quick/long story about a game I loved, but slowly came to hate..

Rainbow six Seige released a few months before I purchased it, and only found out about it from a friend who barley even turned on his xbox. We use to play RSV2 together as kids, so he thought I would love it

He was right, I was instantly hooked and began putting an insane amount of hours into it. Just to put it in perspective, I had over 100+ hours as 1 character (Frost) by the time I quit, and that was only with 1/25+ characters.

I had quickly started to grind and climb all the way up to gold, teaming with teams who were level 170+ when I wasn't even able to start a ranked match alone since I was under level 20. I met a lot of nice people, a lot of douche bags, and a lot of very god players.

I had basically completely skipped over bronze silver and gold tiers, and sat at Plat 3, nearing diamond again and again until I reached it. I played against good diamonds, bad diamonds, shitty diamonds (literally trolling them since they were most likely only diamond because of the broken ranking system at the time), but also A LOT of amazing diamond players.

As I played more and more I was able to have map knowledge so well, I can ( and have) drawn out complete maps, marking every window and doorway, and was striving to become a high tier, possible semi-pro Rainbow player( keep in mind I basically failed 1st semester of college because of the hours and practice I put into this game).. But I quit and here's why.

Ubisoft is possibly the WORST video game developer when it comes to server performance (maybe behind EA, as I met a man who worked for EA for 2 years and said they were a joke when it came to servers and customer service lol). Ubisoft and rainbow six server performance became so bad, that only 2 months after I quit, they came out with "Operation health"...

"operation Health" was suppose to be the new DLC, but it was replaced with Ubisoft's semi failure to bring Rainbow Six from a broken game (balance wise AND server wise), to a top tier game that could possibly be one of the greatest competitive based shooter games to ever exist..

Sadly by this time I had already finally put down my Xbox controller because of CONSTANTLY being kicked from matches, having players in my squad kicked from matches Mid game, game freezing, D sync, endless loading that would force you to disconnect, forfieting the match, etc, etc.

I may have kept playing rainbow six, but all of my "friends" who were top tier with me also quit because they were tired of being deranked and punished for "leaving ranked games" over issues on Ubisoft's part..

These issues with Ubisoft game and server performance didn't stop its growth on the Xbox, but it diffidently made more hardcore and other mature players to quit.

PC is still alive and is going great! In fact, not to long ago I plugged In my Xbox controller and played a match with it against people with nice, and it was actually funny to see since it was mouse vs controller.

It made me miss the game so much, as it was one of the first games I became truly good at...

I still have a love hate relationship with Seige, but it got to the point where it was unhealthy to keep playing with the amount of frustration that came with it.

Now I stick to Pubg, but like all survival games for the most part. I think the constant competitive vibe, mixed with TERRIBLE game issues just meant for a unhealthy experience and I'm glad I found a game I'm semi good at and can still enjoy and die, and know it's MY FAULT, or not have to worry about Getting kicked from a game for no reason (I have had Zero connection issues with pubg over tha last 6 months or so).

Anyway, I'm sure some of you can relate, but I just wanted to get that off my chest and explain how sometimes, you just have to let things go and move on to something new, no matter how much you enjoyed it..

    Thanks for reading

Ps: sorry for any typos I'm on the iPhone and it corrects bullshit that doesn't need to be corrected
