Proxy + VPN's

I was thinking since while I'm at school I use proxies, and other times I use VPN's like TOR to connect since Sythe it's blocked, will I get banned for running into a banned IP address from Sythe?

I'm asking this because I got a PM from a different site about this issue, and they told me I must of ran into a banned IP, but I explained them the situation and they unbanned me. I definitely don't want to get banned for somebody else's mistakes.


Also, if somebody else logs into Sythe from my house, and they get banned later, will I be banned too? If that is the case I'll try to get them to use a proxy or VPN while they're at my house, there's like 3 or 4 people. I trust them but just if anything comes up, am I going to get banned too?

 

You won't usually be banned from using a proxy/VPN or whatever to access the site. Although you may receive a TWC. However if you can provide a good reason to be using a proxy/VPN to access the site then that should be fine.

As for your home IP, if a banned member logs in via your connection there then you may be banned as you are responsible for your IP. Especially with static IPs.

 

As long as you aren't using VPN's/proxies 100% of your time on Sythe, then that's okay. We do need to see a real IP, though. We wont ban on the basis of sharing a VPN/proxy IP with a banned user. As for your friends, as long as you/we can prove/see you are different people, then it's okay. The rule about being responsible for bans on your IP is to stop people coming out with "oh it's my brother's account" or something like that. I'm assuming they'll have posted from a different place of residence also, so you should be okay.

 

I only use a proxy, or tor, or vpn every few days, or sometimes a few minutes every day, since the majority of the time I'm connecting from home.

If you connect from home some of the time they can see your real i.p and see that you are not a vader, as if you only post from proxies and VPN's it makes it look like you're trying to hide your real i.p which has a banned account connected to it. :3
