Proxy & Sythe

Hey, how's it going? I often lurk on Sythe and finally decided to join because a user I was doing business with on here requested me to. When I initially tried to set up an account, I was blocked and told to contact administrators. This happened because I was using a proxy at the time, and someone previously created an account under that IP.

My question is this: If I use a proxy while browsing Sythe, is it possible for me to be wrongful banned? Or would there be a deeper investigation to make sure the accounts would not be owned by the same person? Furthermore, would using a proxy while browsing Sythe break any of the rules set in place here or is it just recommended not to use one?

Not really no, but why do you need to use a proxy?

 

You were able to successfully register using your home IP correct?

Its fine to use a VPN/Proxy to occasionally connect to Sythe, but if you're only using proxies to connect that may arouse suspicion. A home IP address is needed for things like disputes, account recoveries, etc.

You don't need to worry, unless you or someone on your home IP gets banned/has been banned. That you're responsible for. But just accounts that have used the same proxy you don't need to worry about.

Uh... what are you expecting to happen? You can't do a lot with an IP address and if you're paranoid about the NSA, it's not hard to find you.
