    A new rule regarding vouches

Add a new rule that makes it so a member must be able to provide proof a trade actually took place if requested to verify a vouch. If they cannot prove a trade took place, they are required to remove the vouch and cannot use it, period.

For instance, I see newbies doing 700m trades, and they're vouched by other newbies. Chances are it's a self vouch, or a friend who did it for them. Except if you ask them to show you a pic of their PayPal transactions, or an in game picture of the trade, they'll decline (most likely because they have no such pictures).

With this new rule in place, it would get rid of a lot of the fake vouches, because people would have to be able to back up every one. And if most people are like me, they'll easily be able to provide at least one picture of the trade, if not many.

NOTE: This would not affect current vouches, even though it should, but to be fair, all vouches posted before the date the rule was added do not have to be proven to have taken place.

    A new rule regarding vouches

I am not really sure whether to support this or not..

It's a great idea and would reduce the amount of fake vouches, but on the other hand it would so hard to keep track of every single screenshot in case someone wants to verify a vouch.

If you actually take the time to look over someone before you trade them, chances are you won't get scammed. If you look at someones vouches and they have 10 all from members with 2 posts, isn't it blatantly obvious that they are fake and you should stay away?

So I am going to have to say no support on this one. Sorry.

Perhaps I should have stated once you have several vouches verified, you don't have to verify any more at that value. It's not so much I personally or even others would fall for them. It's just a way to clean up the markets and help rid Sythe.org of fake vouches for $800 when they just joined yesterday.

    I'm torn on this one.

On one hand, it would eliminate the fake vouching from newcomers, as you stated.

On the other hand, I feel like it'd be a hassle and annoyance for the legit traders.

So I guess I'll sit back and see both sides, before I say support or no support.

Judge for yourself when you come across a situation like that. Chances are a newcomer won't have actually traded 700m and if you are speculative, ask a mod to ip check the accounts that vouched him/her.

Again, if someone is well established on the site, and they have 50+ vouches for $10,000+, they wouldn't have to verify all their new trades, if even any.

This would simply give mods the right to forcibly tell people to remove a vouch if they can't prove it to a mod. Or it gives members the right to report people who won't prove that a trade actually took place. This would mainly affect new members, it wouldn't impact old, well established members at all.

    This.

And it would cause so much more extra work for a mod.
You can always report them for fake vouches (IF you have valid proof)

I'm somewhat in support of this - you should anyways have images of the trades. Perhaps it should just be a requirement that if you're asked to show proof of a vouch you should have it.

Practically though, it would require too much time keeping threads updated.

Too much work. Check the QUALITY of the vouches. and who they're from. trading with a ton of leechers = not a vouch imo.

No, a trading isn't a requirement for a vouch. You may give/get vouches from
people that you genuinely trust. This adds too much unneeded
work and it is much better for you to just check vouches yourself before you trade.

    No support.

Vouches are to be interpreted by people however they feel it's the right way.

It is too hard to keep up with every trade that takes place and to provide valid proof individually. As The Black Tux said - vouches are up to individual interpretation - there is no need for a mod to make an additional interpretation.

While it is a good thought, I don't support this at all.

IF you don't believe their vouch, report for self vouching and deal with someone else. It's up to you to deep who is "trustworthy", not rules.

I don't support. You can simply ask a moderator for concerns to ask for someones IP- if thats possible.

    A new rule regarding vouches

    That would be a pointless.
Unless there is proof it's a fake vouch.

My first few vouches were when I was a newcomer, and everyone went first to me.
People have trust in people, which most shouldn't have :/

But the point is, you see people trading newcomers all the time (large-scale trades) and not being scammed, AND being scammed.

Having a vouch, if you're a newcomer, from a newcomer for a 1bil trade means nothing. It could be faked, sure. Just try to get proof before you do a RaS.
Or request an IP check (pm a mod)

OT, Vouches are however you think they are. Meaning, it's up to you to decide if you want to trade them. No one forcing you to trade someone. If something is too good to be true.. then it is.

    Yeah that's what I meant.

Basically it's up to the other trader to deem someone trusted, not a guideline rule or specific ranks.

    A new rule regarding vouches

imagine how many vouches would have to get verified imagine me asking king tijn to verify 600+ vouches? I doubt thats going to be fun, and a vouch is a "Thank You" for a successful trade, its obvious when a newcomer joins the same day has a vouch for $700 from another newcomer, would it make much difference to make them verify the vouch? either way its pretty obvious its still a fake vouch

    A new rule regarding vouches

Vouches have been discussed way too many times and the same thing is always said "Use your judgment and check the quality and quantity for yourself"

If you see a 700m vouch from a 3 post count recently joined guy, disregard it. simple
