Progress, and your advice.

This thread is here purely for suggestions, for the GFX Forums, and as a progress log, for the next period of time.

First of all, here are some current suggestions;

• Split the SOTW into smaller sections (Large pieces, websites, photo, -of the week)
• Bring back SOTW to be a week
• A reward for SOTW winners
• Tutorial of the Week
• Buy in, winner takes all competitions?

A Possible reward would be it gets features for the week they win?

 

reward would be awesome, be it SotW winner where it would say your rank or a user image thing.

what about making a senior gfx'r teach a new one and have a month long competion?

Jcash, i'll talk to the Admins about the possible user image or SOTW possible prizes.

 

Also just some input, if you want to get SOTW popular key is to having voting be done by everyone, people like choices and feeling they have a say so if they vote 1 time they are likley to vote or even partake in sig making again, so getting members of the forum from all boards to vote would be the advice I would assume is important.

 

I don't think there should be a HUGE reward for the winner of the sotw. For that I think it should be a title by your name that says sotw winner and like a roman numeral by it on how many times you've won.

Also, I think we should widen up the community by posting more tuts and helping them a lot. Like maybe a tutoring section where you post your topic and say you're open for helping.

 

Yes. I like the SOTW idea, also tutorials would help people.

The commercial aspect seems a bit much, most of the people on here are under 13, and aren't very financially active.

Possibly try to see how many people would buy in?

 

Possibly have a buy in sotw and a normal. Same theme though. Or not.

Jcash, another Idea i had was to make collab SOTW, or team SOTW?

People would naturally bring in team mates, which means more traffic, and more contestants?

Or for example, I would choose partners (I wouldn't compete myself) and for example, people could invite their own partners or something, just an idea.

 

I'd love that, but wouldn't that increase the chance of keyloggers?

i see so what your saying is;

Fred is new to sythe he's a leecher with very little GFX skills.
after brwosing to forum's he's decided to learn gfx.
a few weeks later he's gettgin better and see's these new competitions.
he decides to enter the team one with his friend whos amazing at gfx, they win.

and what about if we made it so you couldn't have the same partner twice? that ould encorage even more people?
