    Need help with Thread layout

So I don't really care about dimensions (roughly 1200 width by 1800 height), but I need like a base shape to work off. I really cant draw in illustrator and I need some help. If you dont understand what im talking about its this:

    how to make the shape.
    1. press cmd + R to get your rulers
    2. press p to get the pen tool
    3. drag a guide in to the direct center.
    4. click to make an anchor point somewhere close to the top on the guide
    5. make another anchor towards the top right but hold your click and drag to make it round.
    6. continue making your shape
    7. once you get to the bottom. end on the guide.
    8. connect the bottom with the top.
    9. right click and select fill path (do it on a new layer)
    10. press cmd+j to duplicate your layer
    11. go to edit > transform > flip horizontally
    12. place on the other side to make the the shape
    13. merge the 2 layers.

If you are serious about design then you'll need a sound knowledge of the pen tool eventually.

I practiced by finding an image (I used an image of wes welker) and cutting him out of the image creating a render.

To get a better visual on what bigk is trying to explain, I recommend watching this beginner tutorial on using the pen tool.

A good way to practice is by tracing images with the pen tool like Jack had mentioned.
