Well this song is supposed to be more of a display of his skills which is why the beat is so generic

 

I'll admit I did like the skills but after becoming such a Tech N9ne fanboy.. it's like ehhh... but the lyrics were good and he did deliver most of them pretty well.. the song as a whole just doesn't do anything for me. He needs to get on drugs again =].

You not understanding his lyrics does not equal it having no meaning to it, especially when he basically wrote an essay (1500 words) in rap. I'll go ahead and explain it for you.


He's describing how he's getting less popular, but he still has all the skills he had before, and people are just criticizing him for sucking when he is in fact evolving and becoming better than ever. Basically, people like you don't understand his new shit so they just put it down. They're stuck on his old shit, which was just rebellious songs that had no meaning to them. People just liked him because he was controversial and now that he's matured, everyone thinks he fell off. He also describes in the song that although he has a long of inspirational songs, this is one where he shows his skills. He combined various different rap styles from different artists, and that's the main theme of the song. Think of the song's "importance" as him having a discussion about where he's headed as an artist, responding to critics, etc.

He obviously indicated that he did like Eminem's music at some point, and he's retarded because he has no reasoning for disliking his new songs. I understand where he would not like his first two singles from his new album, but "Rap God" is in a similar style to his previous music.
