Need help on using PayPal

Hi there,

I want to sell a cd-key, but I am unsure of how PayPal works in general. The help topics on the Paypal website are quite frankly, terrible. Could someone explain to me how I would send a cd-key (be it notepad/WORD document or otherwise) to another person while I receive their money?

You could email the cd key to them if it was in a notepad document or a similar file. A lot of people prefer to do it instantly over MSN though.

To send money via PayPal, you only really need two things, money and your trader's email address. So you would give that person your PayPal email address so they could send the money to it. I wouldn't recommend going first unless you know/trust the other person.

 

So if i send a request money form out to him, what happens then? Does it sit somewhere in paypal until i send him his key? So what happens if I send him the key? Is there anyway for him to 'cancel' his end of the payment? and still get my key?

 

You don't have to request money from him, he can just send you it. Unless you know him well and trust him, I would make sure the money is safe in your PayPal before sending him the key. He could do a chargeback, where he could claim you scammed him over PayPal, a lot of the time the buyer tends to win the dispute, so use caution when trading.
