    If i turn friend and private chat off on runescape, are my friends still able to see me?

    Sorry for the noobish question, but I did not know whether they knew that I was online and just could not talk to me.

    just turning private chat off will do the trick, friends chat usually turns back on, no point in turning it off if you have no one on yours friends list.

    So I won't even appear on their friends list if I have "private" turned off? Just need this 100% clarified. Thanks for your input.

    yep if you have private chat off it should say you are logged out.

    If you have private off, you will appear as logged off and will not be a green dot.
    If you are in a friends chat you will have to leave it (don't need to turn friends chat off).
