Is it just me?

After Finn's thread yesterday and the temporary resignation of Govind I understand that the staff has taken a blow. I know the site is in good hands but I would like an update on what is going to be happening in the next short bit and if there are procedures in place to take care of situations like this. We have one general admin resign and the other is barely active apparently and I am just curious as to what the next step is.

Contrary to the belief, the staff team is still going strong without the strong presence of Govind.

For now, please leave promotional talk to the Upper Staff, if they decide a promotion is in order then one will be subsequently issued, there's absolutely no need to raise eyebrows or discuss it. There's an "Announcements" sub-forum for a reason, that's where you'll get any updates if there are any.

 

I am not questioning the ability of the staff to work, I was just asking what the next step is.

 

The next step is for the site to continue running. One person leaving is not really a very big deal. There are three other administrators right now, and believe it or not, they all poke in almost every day.

Govind's absence is notable, but it's not a crisis. I assume Matthew and Sythe themselves will have to perform some of the General Administrative assignments for the time being, and (aside from improving site code and adding new things to the site like LiveHelp) not much is really needed. Like we've already said, we don't have a set number of administrators, just like we don't have a set number of mods. Like always, we are actively seeking candidates for every position. We don't want to promote someone who is either unwilling or not yet qualified.

TL;DR: I'm sure Sythe and Matthew are considering candidates, but if they decide that it's more harmful to hastily promote someone, then so be it.
