Lionel Messi wins Golden Ball award for best player of World Cup

Obv me and FIFA were not watching the same world cup. I could list 5 other players that deserved it more than Messi. #corruptfifa

 

Horse shit FIFA, he didn't deserve even close to this.

 

Go ahead and list them; I'd be curious to see who you're thinking of. Two of my top three are already holding the golden glove and the golden boot.

I'd have given it to Keylor Navas, personally, but I wouldn't consider Messi undeserving.

 

Neuer, Robben, Rodriguez, Schweinsteiger and Mascherano. Point is he didnt deserve it, just like the ballon d'ors hes been winning

 

James Rodriguez, Muller, Ron Vlaar has also performed great. Robben has put his fair share in, there's a lot of players who should have been given the chance.

 

0 goals in the knockouts, Messi may be the best on his team and the big reason they went to the World Cup, but I don't think he deserved the award. I would have given it to Rodriguez.

 

I dont even find him being the best in the Argentinian squad, in my opinion Mascherano and Di maria were better

 

Mascherano was good in the later games, but Messi carried them into the knockouts. Salvaged 3 pts for them in the Iran game, won them the Nigeria game. Pretty much won them the Switzerland game too, Di Maria said the play was all Messi.

But after that, he disappeared. And today he blew 2 prime chances.

 

I know he lost but he could at least be a bit happy. Others would love to get that

 

They just lost a heartbreaking final which was minutes away from a coin toss to take the trophy, a shootout, which was Argentina's best chance of hoisting the trophy.

I don't blame him for not wanting to celebrate at all.

 

Messi is always disinterested looking, it's his character.

Schweinsteiger woulda been my other choice. While Messi shows glimpses of great footwork and vision, he is very lazy at times and doesn't always appear visible in the match. Schweinsteiger put his heart and soul in to that match while getting hacked to bits in the second half. Best performance in any match of the cup.

 

Schweinsteiger is a diver and whiner, and that's about it.
