What is the state of botting right now?

I haven't played in a few months. I used to bot with simba quite a bit before I quit. I remember Optimus being planned when I quit but I never found out what happened to it. What is botting like? Has it changed any recently? Is it more risky?

and how is Optimus expected to change botting long term?

 

At the start of the new bot age Bots were very simple but now their are very complex and very good anti-bans
I believe PowerBot RID and simba are the best boats out their

 

The future of botting is unknown, we can only wait until it is fully implemented...

 

So there's been no significant change recently to deter botting?

When I quit, people were still struggling with the navigation bar because it had just came out and it threw off all the bots.

 

randoms are gone, but jagex is crafty. my mule got banned with 24M

 

I haven't heard of any mass bans in a while. Actually, now that I think of it, I haven't heard of any bans at all!

 

Neither. With the punishment for the first time being caught only a temporary ban with their new 3 strike rule I say just bot whatever you want until caught!

 

Agreed, I would suggest looking into Robotz In Disguise over Powerbot, Epicbot, Simba, etc. Veloxbot seems to be quite reliable although it was just released. So far, so good, however Jagex claims that their new bot detection software that apparently hasn't been implemented will be far more effective than the Optimus update which has been trampled over since you retired.

 

The fall of nexus/ibot has been a huge blow, the golden age of botting is over, make no mistake.

OT: Simba is still going great, the nav bar was fixed within a week. Powerbot is ok but there are a few new bots coming out.

 

Its pretty much the same as its always been however Optimus is still rumoured to happen and Jagex say it will.

 

Optimus has already been initiated, according to Mod Tom B there is a 'Part 2' on the way which will be aimed primarily and eradicating bots. The initial Optimus update is nothing more than a platform for them to make ease for Part 2 which be released soon.

 

Amen, botting is pretty decent now, and jagex doesn't seem to be banning anyone for some reason but nexus was the shit. Powerbot does look a lot more like how nexus did operate.
