    Proof of contacting seller: I have 2x transcripts from tickets during the purchase, and one after the account got recovered
    Discord ID + Unique Discord ID: poweros / 1023134906529890354 (was confirmed to be him by checking the UID registered to his sythe account)
    Login username of the account: i imported into a fresh jagex account, using a private email domain that I own & manage with Microsoft 365 MFA due to it being part of a private M365 tenant, so the login name did change

    I can provide copies / recordings of the transcripts provided by his ticket tool bot as this is where all dialogue was held.

    I held the account for 1 month and 1 week, which is suspiciously just after the 1 month period within the TOS. He confirmed that he was NOT the original owner of the account AFTER the account had been recovered.
    The account was not registered to an email, however, this would not have prevented the recovery.
    The original owner would have contacted Jagex using the link below, and used the original account details to pull the account out of my jagex account, and into one of their choosing.

    I attempted to log into the Jagex account today and got the message saying that the Jagex account had been disabled. This isn't the usual message when an account gets banned, it's due to Jagex closing the account due to it being used in 'hijacking'.

    Contacted the seller who only offered 50% of the payment to be returned however I do not see how I should be out of pocket because he did not disclose that he was not the original owner of the account, breaking rule #3 here: [Section Rules] Old School RuneScape Accounts

    Hi Mods,

    Happy to provide both ticket logs for these (both original purchase and the on ein questions where he has raised his issue), would also like to go on record that I will follow the ruling provided by the mods to resolve the situation once mediated.

    This was sold as a legacy unregistered account, with no registered email. The email address that exists for the login (a yahoo domain) doesn't actually have an email address created (this is still the case and can still be created - I also have a screen shot of the fact the yahoo email for the account doesn't have an existing registered Yahoo email).

    My main concern as stated in the ticket, is other than the JL account being disabled - what underlying proof is there that it's due to the purchased account in question being recovered? Also, there is potential that if another account was purchased (given the purchaser is a member of multiple botting discords and a certain TOA script is very popular right now, it is likely TOA KC is botted - which i believe would require a team of 3 for the scripts that are available) this may have been recovered?

    Jagex accounts can be disabled for all manner of reasons, not limited only to 'hijacked' characters (have read multiple reports online of the Jagex terms and conditions of malcious game play as well as within their actual rules online that highlight purchasing and importing an account alone is in breach of the T&C and can result in disabled accounts).

    As stated by the purchaser, the account still remains in the hiscores and still has the same Display Name that he changed the account name too.

    I have taken a screen shot of the account in the hiscores at the time of the purchase to monitor for any xp change or TOA kill count increase, or a display name change. None of which have changed since the issue was raised with me.

    The final couple of points I'd like to make are:

    The legacy tut accounts that were used to build the account (and all my accounts) where purchased in November 2023 and to date, precisely zero of the other accounts have been recovered.

    I've also read when a character is transferred off an account (even in the event of a hijack) the registered Jagex Launcher email address generally receives an email notification to say the same even if it ends up disabled.

    Would just like to specifically mention:
    - You did not provide information or clarity that you were not the original owner of the account. I was only informed after the account had been recovered.
    - It doesn't matter if the original email has been created or not. Any email account can raise a recovery on the account as long as it can provide Jagex with the original email address and account creation details.
    - The email confirming the character being transferred off was not received due to an email not being registered on the account. This would not have prevented the recovery of the account.
    - The botting side is irrelevant, as it does not contribute to the recovery of the account. In the case of an account ban, the Jagex account does not get disabled, and the account status can be viewed once logged in.

    The Jagex account being disabled lines up with many examples I have seen while being a developer and community member of the RuneLite / RLPL botting scene.

    Mods, please do let me know should more information be needed.

    Understand your point of view mate for sure - the email being received for a character transfer would have been received at your email address linked to your Jagex launcher account.

    Once Mods have seen this and TOS, I will specifically call out accounts are purchased level 3 tutorial accounts, although the line of not being able to help with recoveries would infer this, but will make sure its in plain english in future in case the question isn't asked by the purchaser before hand.

    Happy to resolve this amicably however the mods see fit, as I stated in the ticket would just rather it mediated as it's a situation i've never had to deal with before and just wanting the confirmation of the only way a jagex account being disabled is due to recovered accounts.

    Just confirmed the date I purchased the account, it was on the 28th May. It has been less than 4 weeks since the purchase. The account was held for 27 days.
