    Saying Merry Christmas

I do not expect this thread to go far, nor do i care. I am just looking for some feedback.

Okay, so during the holidays people will often say "Merry Christmas", however, people get pissed of so they have to say "Happy Holidays". I am not religious, and i think that everyone is, is a nutcase. But thats besides the point. I think that if you can't handle someone saying "Merry Christmas", then you need to get the fuck over it. Its been a tradition, and it shall always be.

    So, post what you think

Yeah, I hate just about all aspects of Christmas and when I have mates constantly texting/over msn saying "OMG MRRY CRIMBO" or having all this Christmas shit in their personal messages, it annoys me.

Most people don't mind, I think it's just the media overreacting. Fox News appeared to be the only network to say Merry Christmas.

Saying 'merry Christmas' is much like saying 'happy Hanukkah' to a non-jew. It's basically presuming the person is of their particular religion, so obviously some people would get offended.

Me, I don't care. I say merry Christmas to people, and if they get butthurt, too bad.

I honestly can't understand why people would resent the term "Merry Christmas". Ok, so maybe you don't celebrate the holiday, nor do I - I'm Atheist. But it's just two words which bring happiness across the world, if you can't deal with other people's happiness then I think you need to seek help.

Obviously it could be seen as offensive to people's religions, but I don't know why people would fuss over something so small, as opposed to let it go over their heads.

I'm an Atheist for the use of "Merry Christmas". Even though it's considered a religious holiday, it's really just a celebration of certain events in the Universe (Winter Solstice, etc.), so I have no problem with it.

    Saying Merry Christmas

saying merry christmas is out of respect to wishing them a happy holiday. Its not meant to be taken literally as your christian and ur forcing your religion on someone else. Its simple a way to show mutual respect towards someone during the holiday. People take shit too literally and need to open their eyes and be more open. People are too closeminded in this world and thats y its the way it is. People should see that when someones says merry christmas they are showing respect and nothing more. Plus this is fucking america so I should be able to say what the hell i want. And if they dont like then they can get the fuck out.

people who get offended need to get over themself. I have never met an intelligent Jew or Arab who was offended, only idiotic ones. even worse are christian liberals who think its wrong. these people need lives, badly.
