    Hello Guys.

A thread was made not long ago by a member of staff made a post telling people to call a guy who had scammed him's number. This is inapropriate, and there should be a rule saying that it isn't allowed here. There isn't currently a rule on it ( thought there would be ).

    Personal Information Includes:
    Address
    Phone number
    Personal IM
    Name
    I.Ps

This needs to be a rule, as without it, most users aren't protected and can have their details posted.

I half agree. I don't think any personal info should be given about someone if it's not given by the person it's regarding.
Like people who get scammed RS MILLS give out the scammers address and number and stuff. There are some fucked up people on the internet. Pedophiles, stalkers, all that kind of stuff. Posting other peoples address on the internet is just wrong.

As Nathan III said, if it isn't by the user himself, or without his permission, than it should be deemed as personal.

    Disagree.

Infact, I wouldn't mind their being some sort of registration for users involved in large trades. They'd definitely think twice before scamming if we had their home phone.

If I get banned for scamming, then yes. Otherwise of course it would be inappropriate.

kind of agree..If you make people nervous saying you have their contact info than they will be less likely to scam,

also I agree that you should not post personal info all over the website.

Again, such consequences of scamming seem completely appropriate. If I gain Scammer A's personal information, of course I'd make it public.

    1. Other Sythe users could compare Scammer A's address to that of the person they're trading with.

    2. Users would think twice before scamming if the people they scam can call 'em up.

I don't see any reason why we, as a community, should protect scammers. We've been releasing their IPs for years, and they make the decision to scam.

Seeing as Sythe posted all of Yakov's IP's, I doubt this rule would be implemented. I don't particularly have a problem with it, seeing as it might teach the specified person a lesson. I'm not sure who else has done this, but I see no problem with it. Also, considering the fact that Sigex scammed $1000's of dollars and B's of GP, I suppose it could aid in the effort to halt a scammer.

Not really. A pedophile can easily pick any phone number they want, do a reverse check to get an address and i'm sure it won't be hard to get someone's name. Anyway, posting someone's real information puts them in no direct danger unless they have done something to warrant revenge. This is why it would act as a good deterrent to scammers.

    Long story short, I disagree

I disagree. Like posted above, it is your responsibility to protect your personal information and identity. And this forum isn't just about RS or black market.
It has other useful stuffs as well. User education, the programming section etc.
I am involve in the black market as well. However, after much of thinking last year, I decided to create another msn and stopped giving away my personal msn. So then, I can have my private time without sythe people who uses the black market bothering. It is just an example.
Whatever you post here, it will be your responsibility as well.

You cannot always protect your details, as sometimes they get leeched, found out etc. I still stand my ground, anyone who posts personal information about a fellow user should get a big fat ban.
