"Mojang" used to create huge mountains and stuff, but when I tried it in 1.8 i just got a big ocean.

 

I heard that seeds don't work on 1.8 anymore, will try and find the source when I get home.

yeah they do, you just have to start a new single player map, and click "Map Options"

 

They work but it looks like they have all changed.

Those are pretty cool. I always get real lame maps...

 

I personally haven't found any good seeds but I a friend told me if you type "gimmeabreak" into the seed part, you will spawn right in the middle of an NPC village.

 

The spawn point is different every time. There's basically two strategies to finding cool seeds:
Spam out the seeds by making worlds, and dumping them if they're not instantly interesting
Or make some seeds, and keep recreating the same world with the same seed (so you'll end up in different spots each time)

 

We should make a list of cool seeds we have found.
