Get Free Software from AutoDesk to Help Start a New Career

    Intro

Welcome to my guide on getting free software from AutoDesk. By siging up as a student or as a way to get assistance in training with AutoDesk related products you can get the following products:

    Code:
    [B][U]General Design[/U][/B]

AutoCAD® software, one of the world’s leading 2D and 3D CAD applications.

    [B][U]Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC)[/U][/B]

    Autodesk® Revit® Architecture software, purpose-built building information
    modeling software for architects.

Autodesk® Revit® Structure software, building information modeling (BIM) for structural engineering.

Autodesk® Revit® MEP Suite software, the BIM solution for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers.

AutoCAD® Civil 3D® software, the building information modeling (BIM) solution for civil engineering.

AutoCAD® Architecture software, the AutoCAD® software for architects.

Autodesk® Ecotect® Analysis software helps enable architects to create more sustainable designs, right from the start.

Autodesk® Navisworks® Manage software, coordinated, complete, control.

AutoCAD® P&ID software, create, modify, and manage piping and instrumentation diagrams. Manufacturing

Autodesk® Alias® Surface software, use dynamic 3D modeling capabilities to evolve concept models and scan data into high-production surfaces.

Autodesk® Alias® Design software, rely on a complete set of tools for developing and communicating product designs using sketches, 3D models, photorealistic renderings, and animation.

AutoCAD® Electrical software, purpose-built to accelerate the creation of electrical control systems by automating electrical engineering tasks and providing comprehensive symbol libraries.

AutoCAD® Mechanical software, purpose-built to accelerate the mechanical design process by automating common tasks and providing comprehensive libraries of standards-based parts.

    [B][U]Media & Entertainment [/U][/B]

Autodesk® 3ds Max® software, industry standard 3D modeling, animation, rendering, and visual effects solution used to produce and award-winning games, film and video content.

Autodesk® Maya® software, create breathtaking 3D and meet production demands with new modeling tools, texturing enhancements, and workflows that take advantage of 64-bit and multicore technology.

    [U][B]Geospatial[/B][/U]

AutoCAD® Map 3D software, bridge the gap between CAD and GIS.

You don't even need to have to be looking to start a new career, perhaps you just wanna start learning a certain software or you want a really good 3d modeling program but can't afford it. And instead of pirating it you can get it legally and with some training. I will be going over the steps that show how to get the products without needing student id, email, etc.

    Signing Up

To sign up first go to http://students8.autodesk.com/ and then scroll down and click sign up just link in the following picture

Next, fill out the information that it asks you to just like the picture below. Also if you did not get fired/laid off from a company you can just use a self owned business and if you don't have one, make one up :) .

After you fill out the information and you are sure it is all correct click sign up. A activation email will be sent, so go to your email and activate your account. Then go back to http://students8.autodesk.com/ and log in and you will be taken to a screen like below.

    Getting the Software

Now we will be using AutoCad as the software that we will be downloading. So you will then click on the AutoCad link (or whatever software you want) and you will be taken to a page like this.

Select your OS (operating system) and then click download (you can click get serial but it does not matter, they both take you to the same page). You will be taken to the page shown in the image below which will give you your serial code, product code, and a download link.

Note the serial and product codes and then click download. A pop up will show telling you it is for educational uses only and not for commercial use and then a mark will be put on everything like so http://students8.autodesk.com/ama/images/housebanner.jpg.
You will download a program called installer.exe, run it and you will start to download the program (do not close the webpage).

After your download is done you can then install the program and then enter in the codes when it asks you to. (I won't show you how, thats not what this guide is about)

    Getting Training

You can also get online, or reduced cost classroom training for certain AutoDesk products. To do so click on the "Training" tab in the nav bar or go here http://students8.autodesk.com/?nd=assistance_training
You will be taken to a page like so

There are many different options and I recommend that you explore them and check them out and see what best suits you to help you learn.

    Final Thoughts

And that is all there is to it. Just note that this is for learning purposes only and if you wish to make money off it you will have to buy the commercial product. If there are any questions, comments, concerns, please feel free to post.
