Myself and a few friends and programmers have thought of the idea to make scar scripting much easier with a much more user friendly program. But before we are going to start any developing we need know if there is allot of interest in this program.

It will released for free, but a pro version will be an additional $5.00
Please post here if you would be interesting in either buying or just using the free version
If you have any questions post them here also.

    Thanks

You're talking about making a compiler right? Sounds like a good idea, but I'd probably stick to the free version :(

Scripts will still be run by scar, but this is just for coding the scripts.

Ohhh. So you write the script in this program, then copy/paste it into Scar to run? If so great idea :)

EDIT: If I were you, I'd take this idea to the SRL-Forums. I'm sure there'd be a LOT more interest in it.

I dont see the point. SCAR scripting is not exactly the most complicated of things in itself.

If Im correct you plan on making a program that someone scripts in. Then the program converts the script into s SCAR script? I honestly dont see the point, what language are you going to use to make it more basic than SCAR?

The language remains Scar, but the program itself puts the script together.

For example: you want to put in an auto talker.
You click functions then auto talker, and a form appears. " how often to talk"
and then its got a few boxes where you put things to say.
Then you insert the function and it merges it with the script.

Yes, I'm pretty sure this would be a good time to make a new script..

Its basically like a person writing the script for you.
You tell it to put an auto talker in the script for you. And then it does it.
Its hard to explain things here. My msn is [email protected] if you have any questions.

From what I have seen, this is basically a code that has pre-made SCAR scripts programmed in to it. It uses forms to then alter the code so that you may easily copy/paste it in to SCAR and start autoing.

If I am wrong (which I am quite a lot ;) ) then I'm for it. If not, then I don't see much point. :/

I dont know shit about SCAR or any thing like it, but what im getting out of it is...
    1) You very basicly tell it what to do
    2) It changes it into the SCAR language

    or

It's like a fill in the blank set up

Eather way, this sounds GREAT for beginer SCAR users/ scrypters.

As some one trying to learn all about SCAR, I would definatly use the free and maybe pay for "Pro". (depending on how user friendly it is)

You can make it to keep the leechers at bay, but i find programming my OWN scripts is more fun.

I might, but tbh, I will stick with RSBot, and when Rule7 comes out, that.

This sounds like a great idea, I use to use scar alot, but I don't auto anymore.

Still, this would help those who do. You could also post the charged one on other sites.

I've decided I'm going to hire a few programmers to help out with the job. If you have any suggestions or questions. Please post them here.

Do you mean like, an IDE? Like, you still do the scripting, but the program makes it easier, like syntax highlighting and all that good stuff?

What would be the purpose in that? Making a program that generates the code for that might as well be the full program itself. Like, instead of asking for variables, you're hardcoding them into the scar script? That's not what good programmers generally do... Not to mention, it's entirely inefficient. If you're going to make a program that generates scripts based on input, you might as well make the whole program do that...

I've talked with a few programmers and they have suggested things similar to what you were talking about. The majority of them have suggested using the scar language but its more or less a new program based on your input. The user will be able to view it as raw Scar or just as a lite show. Where the user clicks a function which appears as a box with a picture/symbol and the user can place these into a programme sentence.

I've got quite a bit to do before any work starts. I'm going to design an interface soon to give a basic look for the program.
