Best 30 minute walk of my life!

Soooo I recently went to Mexico for a nice family vacation, and bring back a box of cigars...so I go for a walk tonight (3am) and walk a good street maybe 2....and don't even get the dam thing lit yet...next thing I know there's cop cars parked at the corner of a street...so I keep walking thinking nothing of it, and to my surprise there's a street filled with fire trucks...

(about 2 months ago there was a house fire with a older lady tied down in her basement killed) next thing I know a cop shouts over..."Hey what are you doing out?" so I walk over being completely clueless what the fuck is happening.

So I come up to him and he looks at me...what are you doing out at 3am? I simply response "I was bored as shit and decided to go for a walk" Bastard cop response "You go for a walk at 3am for no reason with a cigar bigger then my hand?" and at that point I pretty much realized I was fucked, next thing I know they're asking my name, where I live, who I live with and so forth...(I do have a criminal record for assault and currently on probation) So they bring that up and start quizzing me about what I do for a living and so forth...then tell me I have to go home...

So I start walking down the street and after a street another cop pulls up, (thinking to myself...great im guna get arrested) LITERALLY asks me the exact same questions as the last cop. (I get that there was a house fire and they have to be doing their job)

So basically I'm probably going to have a cop show up tomorrow questioning me again, and not to mention I didn't even get to light my fucking cigar...bastards. =@

i feel that the requirements to be a police officer should be a little more extensive.

most cops i have dealt with were either pricks with a social dominance orientation or they were the type of person to project all their frustrations onto you because you are "suspicious"

 

I guess I should have mentioned I live in Canada,

but yeah, I was just walking down the street (obviously was curious what the hell was going on) trying to smoke a nice cigar, and next thing I know I'm being back ground checked....I understand it was 3am, but not everyone has the same schedule as everyone else.

 

They're just questioning people around the crime scene it's pretty routine lol but they might of just been jealous of your cigar

 

and telling him to go home? no.... i dont think they should do that

but they didn't have to make me empty out my pockets, collect all my information, spray my hands to look for whatever the hell it was....and then tell me I had to go home?.... like shit....I'm 22 and my work schedule is completely fucked....if I want to walk around at 3am why can't I?

they came tonight and asked what i was doing last night....just said i was going for a walk cause i was bored....whatever i hope they don't keep coming and shit...they wouldn't even tell me what happened over there+

umm theyre in a glass covered box of 3....says "COHIBA" on a large sticker, and the "HABANOAS" at the top with another sticker...they're quite large lol

 

I would've pissed myself (As I'm underage), if this happened to me. Damn that's insane about the old lady.


Weird story as I live next door to a cop and I smoke Swishers in the front of my house hoping he doesn't catch me (Our houses have fences on the front of them to enter but our houses are right next door. I've smoked weed but I've had to crouch down in the corner so no one would see the smoke rise lol)
My neighborhood is private so that's even worse

 

Not sure how it is whever you are, but we can't get in trouble if we're caught smoking one. Only if we're buying or have a full pack on us. If we just have one and we're uner 18, they can't do anything.

 

Sounds like typical mexican police to me. They have no idea what is going on just looking for some reason to waste foreigner's time.

I've been in a similar situation. A friend and I were walking home from Mcdonalds around 3 AM completely innocently and a cop pulled up next to us. He initially accused us of "suspected anarchism" because of the G20 protest going on in Toronto that weekend (keep in mind that I live a good 40 minute drive from Toronto, and the protest was just in Toronto). He ended up searching us, I had less than half a gram of weed on me and my friend had a pipe. We obviously got let off, but I learned that you need to be firm with cops from the beginning. Don't tell them anything that you wouldn't tell a random stranger that starts to question you.
Good guidelines:
