[POLL] Rank privileges for market banned users

Right, so adding the SCAMMER / UNPAID DEBT rank shouldn't be a reason for them to vade and scam more if they get it. @Bus369

 

I'd 100% agree with this and I hope they are aswell.

What I'm merely pointing out is, we want these DNT members to feel like they actually somewhat belong in this community again, and we want them to feel like being DNT'd is better for them then ban evading and mass scamming, if DNT starts becoming this horrible, shameful rank that they have to wear, its going to probably start discouraging many DNT users not to pay back their debts because its easier to just ban evade and scam.


Remember, paying back their debts is the high road, scamming and ban evading is the low road & much easier, we need to try to find a balance where people can still feel like its worth taking the high road compared to the low is all I'm saying, we WANT to keep them paying back their debts, we don't want them to be in a bad mood once night and decide their already being bullied because of DNT so whats the point then scam and ban evade.

That just becomes a revolving door if u push DNT to far, u have to watch that line.

So, if you were banned for something that isn't banable and have volunteered your free time to help the site by being a staff member, given away hundreds of dollars to members of the site, donated $1000 and got banned for something that isn't banable according to the rules you should have all the things you've earned during your time on the site taken away? I could see for people who have scammed, or actually broke a rule that is banable, but that's just my opinion.

This is an extreme tl;dr but he was a tyrant, and everyone seemed to be OK with it. He was manipulative and moulded the site into something he wanted. You could be banned for being "an undesirable", which basically meant you could be banned because he didn't like you. The worst shit is that it was legit. I was demoted from being a global (and was very close to a ban) because I was friends with Grave, who was an undesirable. That's how bad it was. He also coerced the entire community to donate to him to pay his tuition because he wrote some sort of sob story about how he couldn't afford it. He ended up raking in over 1k and spent it on a Macbook and not on his tuition. Again, somehow, everyone still sucked his dick and nobody did jack shit about it.

There's more but I'm paraphrasing. Not a cool guy.

 

Plus the whole ordeal with him and video chatting with people or w/e and asking for unmentionables and his e-book on how corrupt Sythe was and how he did all these things behind closed doors as staff etc. He really is one of the worst people I have ever encountered on the internet mainly for his lying, treachery, and outright immaturity and disdain.

 

But you're cool with him being unbanned and allowed back with no punishment right?

 

Lol @Yousuckv2 i understand your utter disdain for DNT and everything else that goes along with it. WIth that being said, I clearly stated stated that I believe in second chances and that we are a society here and even a family.

With that being said, Finn has destroyed any semblance ofan image he may have once had in my opionion. He WAS given a second chance, if not more than that. He is, and probably will always be, a piece of shit. And I don't normally feel that way about anyone, nor say that publicly on this forum.

So with all that being said, no, I do not think Finn should ever be able to come back to this community. Ever.

 

Now i'm sure you know how a lot of people feel about other recent unbans, i've also spoken to a few people directly victimized by some of them. Can you imagine how they feel?

@Yousuckv2 Trust me when I tell you that I understand your outlook and displeasure for the current situation. You and I agree on many things, and I respect your opinion on many different things.

The reason I feel the way I do about Finn is because when all this stuff started happened with Finn he was an ACTIVE Administrator. He vehemently betrayed his friends, his community, his co-staff and more than likely blemished Sythe's reputation that probably still has rippling effects to this day. If we are to look in the confines of this website then I would say that Finn trying to frame/blackmail/threaten Richard in his pathetic E-book is probably comparable to a user scamming someone, if not worse. (Imagine the implications)

Next, I do not group ALL scammers here, past and present, into the same category. Users like Coinking etc I think should NEVER be allowed back. But there are users out there that selfishly made a mistake. There can never be any justifiable reason for them doing it; however, I feel like if they can sit out a temp ban then pay the victim back and they stick out being a DNT for a minimum timeframe, then let them pardon. As I said before, even if they go through the whole process and there pardon is denied, then they still don't get to trade on Sythe.

@Yousuckv2 at the end of the day, I have always been a staunch defender of fitting the punishment to the gravity of the crime. A user should never be permabanned for simple misdemeanors here on Sythe under a set amount of money/RSGP. They should be punished accordingly and they should be required to pay the victim back. But at the same time, we need to be fair. We need to be resolute. We need to be just.

In conclusion, @Yousuckv2 i see that you put in a lot of work here at Sythe and I am certain there are many people here who greatly appreciate that, including myself. I worry though because I can see that this whole ordeal has really gotten to you and it shows in your recent posts over the last few days. I see that there are certain posts from certain users that really infuriated you but hopefully you don't let this course of action snowball into something else. Again, I think you are an awesome User here and I say we should collaborate and figure out how to implement both sides of the fence into one genuinely good idea, if possible. Please do not take anything I've said here in a bad way or offensively. <3

No they committed malicious acts against other members of this website who 9/10 times didn't deserve it. If you were one of those members I doubt you'd want to see any of these people back if they hadn't done shit to fix what they did to you. The possibility of being unbanned after they've paid back whatever they stole or damaged is more than fair. We shouldn't be allowing them back in any capacity before they've made amends. The biggest misconception is that scammers and overall scum should be treated fairly. What have they done to deserve it? Did theft and overall being a shitbag suddenly become a qualifier for forgiveness?

 

Non market user should be renamed to Banned From Market or something harsher.

At the moment it just looks like a rank you could request if you didn't use the market and didn't want anyone to trade you in the instance your account got taken over by a third party. When I first saw the rank I thought it would be great to use as a safety precaution, not a punishment rank.

 

Can we get a redirect in the usertitle that says, see why I am not allowed to trade? This should link to a sticky that explains this rank.
Or something like Grave's list kept updated with each person's reason which looks to already be there
