The results that I see here are that people, though they have their own ideas, don't oppose to this one. I like the way this is themed, because it does not center itself in a complex storyline, but rather in events that we can use from history, such as the crusades.

Of course that's what we see, its at roughly 50% either way. I don't think we should be leaning to an all out 100% realistic game tbh...

You don't lean on a 100% realistic history book. Why would I expect that we have a 100% realistic game? I'm just saying that as this poll continues, people are consistantly around 60-40 in favor of the given, and it's easy for us to do. The simpler things are, the faster this can get done, at lower costs, which is what the people who are paying for this, always want.

True, but a 60% approval rating isn't very high. Wouldn't we want a
higher rating for our picked setting?

If I suggested this into a real MMO forum, that does not involve Runescape, I'm sure the suggestion can go through with a much higher rating. The other suggestions being pushed around have only a fair rating of approval, while few have backing.

I really love this idea. It makes things so easy, and it would be extreamly fun.

Even if we do not go relistic and we need to have elves and shit, ii would still like this setting because it is easy to expand with little work.

If you want to stay historically correct you should change Macedonia into Illyria,
as in 3000-2000 bc the whole balkan was illyrian. It should also remain diplomatic as that was the central civilization back then.

I think that the setting should be a legendary city in Pangea (early Earth) where they had very advanced techonology for their time, like technology of the 12th century, such as swords, and people who use witchcraft

Yeah, the kids here would naturally draw that way, considering that 90% of MMO is Medieval. Besides, most people here play Runescape, and just suggest another version of that, which we shouldn't be making.

:'(

I like your idea, I just see most people leaning towards a medieval theme.
In my opinion a Mediterranean theme would be fun, its a different side most
people have not experienced.

This concept would be more fun and gameplay is ment to be fun, we dont want to create a rubbish game not worth playing, we need it to be fast and fun.

Looking good, except that where are the vikings?

An MMO that is based on reality is better suited for today's gamer, as it is more immerse, and can attract a broader age range of users to the game.

Most people play games to escape reality, IMO

I don't think I completely understand your idea, because it still appears like an age of empires type of MMORPG, and i just don't know about the direction that we're looking at.

Does this mean no mage?

Didn't read most of it, but if this has been said, sorry :P

The small islands in the middle, could be neutral territory. You capture it, you have an advantage, perhaps like everyone who helped capture it, or is in the same "colony?" will get rewards, like, "x" exp per day, or whatever currency we'd get. More islands, more profit? All islands will be wiped clean, by "savage vikings" after an x amount of time, which we cannot fight, or anything. This way, we don't have people all joining one (colony?) because it has the most islands.

Just an idea! :) But Mediterranean idea? AWESOME!

I think it's a great idea, especially seeing as the land depicted here is so diverse and there are many islands.

I would rather not have an AOE type of game they are not that good, fantasy swords quests are for me.

I like the late ages theme. It's a lot better than all of the dark ages, medieval ages, iron age, etc. I actually think the fact of going a lot farther back in the ages is a great idea.

I like your idea but i think more people would play it if it was based around runescape or world of warcraft but in a suttel way so you could still incorporate some of these idea's and it would not be a complete copy of either WoW or Runescape. Because if it was people just wouldn't play it.

If you see what i'm getting at?

I am usually all for the medieval theme, but I like this setting that you have chosen. It seems more original for the game play itself.
