This section has been strangled - it's single handily one of the most viewed sections in the non-market areas with upwards of 20-30+ people viewing it at peak times, yet the amount of threads posted are non-existant, there is a LARGE labor pool but very few companys willing to publicly post listings on this forum as is because theres no point posting 1 thread with 8 job listings because the bottom 6 don't get viewed/applied for.

This sticky was redundant when it was made and now its strangled a potentially active section.

As someone who owns ~2 company's, My previous job listing thread had 6,000 VIEWS but contained over a dozen different jobs, I found that the first 2 jobs on the thread received by far and away the most applicants, the ones near the bottom received nearly none and I would argue that the lower jobs had a far larger potential labor pool.

My suggestion: Reword the above sticky to allow multiple threads provided the jobs can reasonably be determined as "different" I.E- Livechat agent & LoL booster & Web developer could have 3 separate listings.

That section is absolutely being strangled by the above sticky, its got posts from Jan 28th on the 1st page and its Feb 11th, that sticky hurts both people looking for work & employers.

You don't see indeed and other job sites restricting job listings to one giant job listing, it doesn't even make sense to do so here.

Certain sections should be limited to 1 thread, job listings is not one that even makes sense to do so, if u have multiple job listings why would u put giant chunks of text regarding 10 jobs on the same thread? No employer is going to do that and no employee is going to read through 10,000 words.

If your going to argue that it creates spam I would sit here and argue that by letting more job listings be created potentially creates more business & activity for Sythe as a larger labor pool is involved more tightly with Sythe and will return for more work later on. It also brings more business to Sythe looking for labor which increases activity and donations.

Employers want to get applicants if they list a job - Listing 10 jobs in 1 thread violates the basic principle of why the jobs were listed in the first place. As an employer I want the title to say hey if u fit this [Web developer] or [LoL] booster read this and when u visit as a worker ur not expecting to have to read 10 job listings in a book of a thread.

This is one section that sticky was never needed - its a activity killer for company's, potential workers & the forum itself.

 

Not sure if allowing more than one thread to be posted would bring more activity to the section but support. Who knows maybe it could.

 

At the time of commenting this - Market discussion + job listings has 24 people viewing it while the entirety of the runescape gold markets has 43.

Its asinine to cripple all those employers and employees with this sticky.

I agree it may not @Katana but its a step in the right direction I think.

 

Perhaps the top two jobs are more desirable than the rest?

If your thread is long detailed with lots of different jobs, why not just use spoilers so people can check which job they'd be interested in reading, keeps your post more brief with a simple summary at the top meaning the people are aware of the jobs you have available without reading an essay of text.

Just having more threads will just end up as spam when one company bumps their 3-4 threads, then the next bump their 3-4 threads etc. Bit like the sandbox marketplace when people have multiple threads there

 

So if a company IRL posted 1 job listing with 100 spoilers of various jobs u'd read through all 100? No. You want to know whos hiring for what you want to work as. Employees don't want to waste time going through 5 job listings with 15 jobs in each listing.

There's a reason on job sites u search by job titles not job descriptions - In the labor market simplicity is the most effective hiring tool, getting the jobs description and purpose across as effectively as possible.

10-15 jobs in a single thread is not efficiency, If I see a general job thread with 15 jobs in it or a thread stating exactly what I want to work as, which do u think the employee would go for?

 

Until Amazon start hiring from sythe.org i dont think we have to worry about that excessive example

 

It's not excessive, 100 or 10 is still to many.

When it makes me as an employer feel that its not worth listing all my jobs because I've got so many in one thread the sticky becomes damaging instead of beneficial.

I literally had to lock my thread of massive job listings and repost just hiring for LoL boosters because all the attention was going to the first 2 jobs lol.

 

I will go ahead and draft something up and see what we can do about this. We can treat that section like an actual job listings site.

 

Support changing the rules for this section, seems like it would be a real hassle if you're trying to hire for multiple positions. Maybe amend the rule and make it say 'one thread per site' if people aren't willing to budge. Would at least give some leeway to people who own multiple sites and need to fill all of those positions.
