When I first saw this I though "Oh probably some-one wanting a pinball or some shit at the top of the page for fun"

Then after reading it I thought this is an fucking awesome idea and congratulations for thinking of the idea, probably took some time, I 100% agree for this to be implemented

Also with Legendary's/Shiney's I think 1 per 5000 pages is good idea, maybe not 1 per 5000, but 1 in 5000 chance, this would make it much more funner when trading and them being sought after, I can almost garuentee I would be posting like 20 times a day, (not spam posts, obviously with effort), due to me being more active, also it'd make me and many others more familiar with how sythe runs and the rules and regulations, updates and news, also with the guy saying about Runescape, No. Runescape is boring and wouldn't work.

I did mean 1 in 5000 chance, I just wrote the OP in a rush so yeah lol

It won't be 5000 pages and you're guaranteed a legendary, but you'd be extremely lucky to see two legendary pokemon with less than 5000 pages or so between them

Lets say you had a legendary, but it appeared at the bottom of the page, would the timer start from when you've scrolled down that far or from when the page has loaded. On an iPhone a page approximately takes 5 seconds to load, so that's legendaries missed altogether. If the times for legendaries were more like 20 seconds it'd be a lot better, as they're not appearing much as it is.

It would be the last thing to load, and the timer would start as soon as it loads, meaning that the entire page will load up, THEN the pokemon will appear. I still haven't addressed the following issue that I just thought of: double tapping on a phone zooms rather than "double clicks", you wouldn't be able to use masterballs on phones as far as I know... maybe I'm wrong about the double tapping, maybe you can double click by double tapping if you're hitting a link, but I doubt it. It doesn't work like that with the iPhone, I know that for sure.

As to whether a pokemon will appear on every page, I don't know that yet. It WOULD be truer to the games if they didn't, because you didn't get into a battle every time you entered tall grass. So yet to be decided on that part.

To effectively double click on the iPhone you have to hold it, and then click open. That takes 3-4 seconds. :/

So simply this isn't a mobile compatible game. Still, most of the sythe users don't regularly use phones to access sythe

Suppose you're right there, there's only a few of us who do 50% of our sythe posting from a mobile device.

Even if you're accessing sythe from a phone 50% of the time, you still have a chance at catching legendary pokemon when you're on your desktop. you'd have a VERY unfair disadvantage, your chances of loading up a legendary which you can attempt to catch would be cut in half, but it'd still be possible

    Just a few other questions

    - Will legendaries only be able to be caught with a M ball.
    - What are the requirements for obtaining different balls.

I don't remember back when I spent hours and hours trying to catch legendary pokemon on the gameboy games, so I don't remember if it was even possible to catch legendaries with a regular poke ball. I don't remember how "powerful" the regular pokeballs were compared to the masterballs... I would say that you CAN catch them with pokeballs, but it would be at least 3 times as difficult (meaning the chance of catching the pokemon would be reduced by a factor of 3). I'm just making up approximations, maybe 3 times more difficult is TOO difficult for a pokeball, but that's just my quick answer.

The requirements to getting balls are in the OP:
x number of posts for poke balls
y number of posts for masterballs
I threw out the numbers "1 pokeball per 10 posts, 1 masterball per 50 posts", but that might be too few or too many in your guys' opinions (and I want to make it as fair as possible for everyone), I haven't given thought to the specific numbers.

EDIT: every 50th post (given the numbers I presented above), you would gain BOTH a pokeball for the 10th post, AND a masterball for the 50th post

It was possible to catch legendaries with any pokeball I've found out, however you had better chances with an ultra > great > normal ofc. Regular balls are shocking, Great are a bit better, Ultra are a lot better, and masterball never failed. Ever. There's also safari balls but there won't be a safari zone so that won't matter and there was another type on Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald.

For a legendary, a masterball is a 100% Catch. Ultra = approx 10%, Great approx 5%, Standard approx 2% would be a suitable amount.

With the numbers in my opinion I'd have a pokeball every 10 posts, that sounds reasonable, and a masterball every 250 posts. You don't want to give those deadly things out too often. Would it be hard to implement a system where you can trade for instance 5 Standards for a great or 10 for an Ultra? Is this getting too much like a sythe 'credits' system that we never wanted to see?

I didn't know masterball was 100% catch, I don't want to make the game TOO complicated, so I don't want 5 different kinds of pokeballs... however, pokeball, ultraball, and masterball sounds reasonable. I think masterball should be upwards of 500 posts though for its 100% catch rate.

Another issue is that there's only clicking and double clicking (the difference between using a pokeball and an ultraball)... will a computer recognize triple-clicking, and use a master ball? Or would it think you doubleclicked once and singleclicked once?

It would think that you single clicked 3 times surely. Maybe if you had an option, where you got to double click on it, then it asked you to select ball type? The 3 types of ball sound a great idea, with maybe these suggested post counts/balls.

    - 10 Posts = Poke Ball
    - 100 Posts = Ultra Ball
    - 500 Posts = Master Ball

So if I'm thinking rightly, every 1k posts would get you

    - 100 Pokeballs, 10 Ultra Balls & 2 Master balls.

Or would it get you a choice of either 100 Pballs, 10 Uballs, 2Mballs. Like are they added automatically or do you have to claim them/redeem them from an area.

I want it all automatically done, it's supposed to be a very simple click and collect sort of game. That means that redeeming your postcount and clicking and selecting which ball you want to use would be too complicated imo.

Of course, I want to satisfy everyone with the game mechanics, if people are fine with complicating it (so long as it works efficiently), I'd be fine with the additional options you propose.

I'm debating with myself whether 1000 posts gets you:
    100 poke
    10 ultra
    2 master

    OR

    90 poke
    8 ultra
    2 master

    Where you earn 1 pokeball for every 10th post 10-90, 110-190, ..., 910-990; 1 ultra for 100th post 100-400 and 600-900; and 1 master ball at 500 and 1000.

In other words, at 500 posts, you earn either one of each pokeball, OR you only earn the master ball.

tbh looking at the numbers now, there isn't much of a difference. 10 pokeballs doesn't seem like much next to the 90 you already earned

I like the second option. It would be cool to hit a 'masterball' landmark on top of 500

I made it really hard to understand in the previous post.... which is a shame because I made a beautiful excel spreadsheet explaining exactly what I mean where even a first grader would understand.... but then I realized there's no way for me to show it to you guys unless I emailed it to you directly or signed up for website hosting and learned how to host spreadsheets on my website... too much work
