Just stating the obvious and truth,
My personal opinion about Pockets is that he is not active as he should be, and once he got promoted he went away forever.. doesn't post at all - Does some good Spam reports but that is about it, i would really like you to start participating more in community events and post around more.

He was promoted months before your time, how would you know this?

Also he was extremely active for the first few months (mod rush maybe?), but his activity has indeed slowed down recently, the staff have lives and aren't required to submit why they will be less active.

You shouldn't say that i'm a newfag - I lurked the forums long enough to know, he's not active as he used to be.

    This.

I'm pretty sure Pockets has major IRL commitments. He was extremely active though in his first few months. Hopefully his activity will pick up soon.

I didn't, my guess was a different account under a different name. People have made 2nd accounts because they weren't satisfied with their names.

But if you did lurk, you'd know he was really active, but you said he just went away forever.

Pockets is busy, IRL, due to his educational commitments.
Sure, he doesn't post as much, but he's always there on MSN if you need him.

I agree he was a little more active in the community before and just after promotion, but as stated above, he's not obliged to be active all the time, I'm sure he'll be back properly soon. He fulfills his role in spam/scam reports and there's nothing more we can ask. I hope he is back and active again soon though.

I don't know Pockets very well, but from just talking to him a bit from being OGV's together, I can safely say that Pockets is a very busy man. He finds a way to make it work out. If he's making his mod-log quota's he is fulfilling what he's supposed to be doing.

Pockets is quite the busy guy. He does a fair bit behind the seems too.

He gets the quota done, I'm happy.

Hey everyone, thanks for the feedback.

I know I haven't been as active my first 2-3 months as a moderator, but I'm still meeting staff quotas. As some above posters have guessed, I'm really busy in real life right now, which means Sythe isn't getting as much attention from me as I was able to give it previously.

For those of you who are curious, I'm:
-Bringing my grades up. I currently have a 3.5 average and would like to get 3.7 or better this semester.
-Gaining weight. I started this semester at 6 feet tall, 130 lbs and would like to have gained 15 pounds by the end of the semester.
-Self-studying for the first actuarial exam
-Servicing as an officer in a club at my school
    -Working
    -Tutoring
-Participating in a case competition for JP Morgan

Even though I'm busy and not doing as much as I used to on Sythe, I haven't stepped down because I think that as long as I'm meeting what's required of me and am doing my best to contribute to the community. If I'm asked to leave though or the community doesn't want me, I'll understand and leave though. Similarly, if I can no longer keep up with what is required or no longer prioritize Sythe high enough in my life, I'll step down.

Hopefully that help clears things up a bit. I'm still on MSN quite a lot as I leave it open when I'm at my computer, so feel free to chat me up whenever.

Do you have any idea when we might be able to see full activity again? And don't feel that we want you to leave, it is just a little upsetting to see your activity being a little lower than it was several months ago, particularly towards the start of this year when we met.

No I don't. I may or may not return fully to that level of activity, but I am still involved and that has been increasing a bit recently as well. Hopefully I'll be able to in the future.

I feel the same way towards malakadang, but to be fair, we live in the same country and he's finishing the last few weeks of his final year at school, but i really wish he stood down for a few months and gave the opptunity to someone else instead of barely just meeting the requirements.

I think Pockets is a fine moderator, does what he needs to do but if he can get the activity up a bit and post a little more, would be wonderful :)

You're doing the right thing, dude. Priorities, much respect. As long as you're fulfilling your role and keeping up with your quota, I personally have no reason for wanting to see you step down. I know when you're back you'll be doing the awesome job you were just after promotion - look forward to seeing you back in full swing and good luck with your grades and weight.

I agree. I don't think moderators should just meet the minimum. That doesn't help a community grow, it makes it stagnate and become stale. Sectionals should at least remain community visible, because globals and admins use the 'behind the scenes' excuse a lot. The forums need a face that represents the authority and those on the staff - honestly a good bit of the mods don't post at all. I understand people have lives, but I am sure there are numerous other people out there qualified and ready to jump into place and be a mod and be in the community. Holding the spot for 'prestige' or the trust factor that being a moderator brings while achieving the bare minimum isn't helping the community grow.

Why do we continually focus on demoting current staff to "open" positions up? If they are still meeting the requirements then they are doing their job.

If the Admins think that they need more people then by all means they can add more moderators.

Because the role of the staff is not just to keep forums clean, it's be able to be updated with circumstances, promote their section activity and work towards its improvement.

But I have the feeling that Pockets and Malaka should not be demoted if they are filling the requirements, it should be up to them if they want to step down and have another person fill their spot.
