.PNG appears with a white BG?

I have no idea what's wrong, using photoshop cs6

I save a PNG for my avatar, done it nearly 14 times now.. And every time it has a white background.. Even though on my layers it's transparent?

Any help?

EDIT I wonder if it could be to do with the layer masks I'm using?

 

You have probably un-marked "Transparency"

 

Could you please elaborate? Where do I find that?

 

When you Save for Web in the right corner you can unmark/mark Transparency.

 

When working with an avatar saving for web when it is only a png is unnecessary. SmokeHut, you'll need someone to apply it as sythe doesn't support transparency very well for some reason. Check the thread in the donators lounge.

Haha yeah, you have to post it here http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1010983 for approval. It can take a while, it may not. I remember the first time this happened to me I raged so hard lmfao.

 

I got pretty angry in the process, I'll admit !

 

I know OP is banned, but I know much people have this question.
Make sure you save it as a PNG, make the picture EXACTLY 80px by 80px, and don't forget to mark "Transparency".
That should work.
