Plug USB devices into a phone/tablet?

Hey guys, I'm wondering what this is called?



Saw this on Lifehacker, would like to get one for my Android phone, and I know that's an iPad. Anyways, I wouldn't consider this tech support.

So.. could you have a mouse on your android phone?

 

Not sure, you would still need the software drivers for it.

I don't think arndroid has those on their operating system or even available for downloads you'll have to check that I guess.

 

It's likely you'd have to root your Android device to get something like that to work. Check your warranty, as that process usually voids it.

 

Well it's just a software modification to root your phone, easily reversed if it goes wrong.

 

I'm well aware of that, since I use a rooted Galaxy SII myself, but it does void the warranty on most devices.

 

I don't see why you would need to plug usb devices into your phone, maybe a keyboard, microphone or a headset. I don't think a phone's usb port would output enough power for webcams, etc.

 

Was gonna see if my USB headset would work with it. Since I stopped gaming with it and use my Steelseries Siberia V2's which don't put out a lot of bass on a Galaxy Ace.

Android for a phone is not going to support drivers for this.. pretty sure.

 

Of course not, just curious as to what would happen. Maybe unrecognized...
