PLP and Nate situation

I have really respected all the modwork you guys have done. You have stuck to the rules no matter who the person in question was (Tenguage, Inventor, Zypur, Hahanerd, etc). (I am not saying i agree with the decisions, just that I appreciate that you view the cases without bias.)


However there have been many inconstancies recently. The most notable in my opinion have been DJWeasel, Vlad-da-vamp, plznate, JV-Punk, Video, and PLP

I am not saying that I dislike any of these people, but your responses has been sluggish, or suspect. In the case of DJ, you waited a significant amount of time, (much longer than any other case) before getting down to addressing the issue. In Vlad's, the same thing was true, Many new members were reporting him, but the reports were ignored for a long time. In PLP's case, it looks like he scammed, and he trolled multiple times. Many users have been banned for much less. He was temp banned many times, but managed to squeeze out of it. Also his other account "Tiger" or whatever remains unbanned. Disputes have been denied because the users have mistakenly registered a new account. Nate looks like he has scammed a disk and pump (I still love him). Video was banned without proper evidence, and not unbanned until like a month. JV-Punk supposedly had a hacked msn, but idk about that. My point is that recently it looks like the banning has been incredibly inconsistent. I'm not criticizing you individually, but its really frustrating from a normal member's point of view.



Again I don't see the mod lounge and all that stuff, but it would be comforting to know what is with this change of policy. Normally sythe is very strict on rule breakers, but the recent reactions to reports have not been in line with the policy.

Also, what was with Finn locking Viper's original feedback thread?

Every case is different, and needs to be looked into individually.

 

And to give you a few examples:

-PLP was given a last chance as his IP's didn't change (and due to the nature of his report, we can use that to determine if he's telling the truth or not)

-As soon as I saw the report against DJw I banned him

-Nate's case is being reviewed by staff

I can understand some of the bans/issues you listed, and some of them I do not agree with the results either, but obviously each case is different, and the variables will change and merit different responses for each one.

Regarding the "me situation", I have spoken with all members who need to know, including staff, and am continuing to resolve. My lesson learned from the situation; dont use mail as a payment method.

 

I don't think anyone should be exempt from a ban.
This is not meant to jab at nate although he has scammed me and sebben.
I don't have any proof sadly because I didn't think he would scam.
OT:
Who cares what your status and ranks are, you should not look into someones case differently because of their status.
Any other member that did what nate did would be banned right away.
Yes i know they are supposably working out payment. But we all know he should of payed in the first place.

On plp, who gives a fuck. He's a troll.

He just changes his ip and comes back and trolls the spam forum.

 

In short, I agree. I have always believed sythe's policy to be "innocent until proven guilty by irrefutable evidence". However, I have also noticed bans being given to users where there was at best, some ambiguous msn convos. Thank you for including me in your list, but for the record, I was banned for a week, not a month. I definitely agree that there should be more consistency in bans though, and that reports should be looked at more thoroughly. Had my ban report received just a few more minutes' attention, one would have noticed that the person who filed the report left out parts of the convo. As a result, I had to spend hours writing ban disputes until they were sent to the upper lounge for every mod to look at and make a decision. What should have happened was that the user who made the report against me should have gotten an infraction for accusing scam without evidence. I have to give the mods credit for the reports they do well, but it is frustrating to be one of the ones who is wrongfully banned.

 

We have the Dispute Forum because the staff isn't perfect. We make some mistakes over the time, and the Dispute Forum is there to fix these mistakes. If you are someone that was banned, and later unbanned because of a staff mistake, then I apologize on behalf of the staff.

 

I don't want to discuss your ban again, however, you make it seem like it was a mistake. The seller did provide enough evidence, but it was voted upon that you should be unbanned as nothing was stolen. I am still openly against your unban.

 

Can nothing be done on this site without a commentary nowadays? Just let us do our thing, and stick to your business.
