[PLEASE READ Before purchasing Runescape Memberships or UGC Codes!] [Very Important!]

4 Days ago, I purchased a membership from a trusted member here on sythe, And this morning I logged on to my runescape account to see that my account is in negative membership credit( Called negative Jcoins), and I am being asked to pay $20 to get my account unlocked.
So naturally I thought this was a scam to start with..
However, after searching the sythe forums, as well as the runescape forums, I've found a disturbing "coincidence"
On the runescape forums, before 1/11/2012, there was 1 complaint in the last 4 months of an account having "Negative Jcoins" And now, since 1/11/2012, There have been over 100 claims of players accounts having been penalized with Negative Jcoins, with no apparent reason. So I searched the sythe forums for similar problems, and yet again I've found a very large amount of these complaints in the last 4 days, and an extreme amount of sythe users requesting Ultimate Game Cards to make up for "Negative Jcoins." Jagex claims that this is not a bug, but they give no plausible explanation for why this is happening to so many players in such a short amount of time. This is really looking like a large cover-up by jagex now, to avoid possible lawsuits by hundreds of players unlawfully being charged $20-50 for the return of their accounts. This problem is causing a large amount of sythe users to buy Ultimate Game Cards for the return of their accounts, So I'm just giving you a heads up on this problem that can for 1: Cost sythe users a large amount of money, and 2: Cause sythe users to accuse Runescape membership sellers of being scammers. Just thought I'd point this out to the sythe community and make sure that people are aware of this problem.
    Thanks,
    Quickk

I had this happen on 3 of my accounts, and since the memberships were paid for by PayByCash, there is an ADDITIONAL $25 fee per account to be paid to PayByCash for the reversal in addition to the $20 paid to Jagex for the Jcoins. Yupp, thats $135 to unblock 3 accounts.

Oh, and the memberships were purchased from Xavia, MMOE's biggest pin seller. He requested a self-ban, likely to get out of refunding all his buyers and getting away with his scam.

The thing is, I'm thinking that this isn't a scam by Pin sellers, because I'm finding that on the runescape forums, hundreds of players are complaining about the same thing, some even have payed for their memberships with an actually runescape card... That's why I'm saying this looks like a mistake and coverup by jagex to avoid a major lawsuit.
Because if they confessed that this, was indeed a bug, then they would have no defense against the 100s of people suing them for the unlawful payments that they were forced to make..

    Ummm, what the fuck?

Are you saying Jagex is trying to make a "quick buck' off a few hundred players for $45? They are a multimillionaire company....

What i see here is that those 100+ players, including you, have purchased "stolen" membership pins

In my post I said that it was a "mistake" Not a scam... The thing is, if they tell the players that they made a mistake causing players $20-50, Players might be a little unhappy about that, right? Intentional or not, it costs the players money. In no way did I say that jagex was trying to "scam players for a quick buck"

It's a scam by pinsellers not Jagex.

The sellers of the upgrades, upgrade your account, then call their credit card company/phone company and state that it was a unauthorized transaction meaning they get your gold for upgrade and money back.

a win-win for them, complete loss for you.

Read some of the comments on the links to the runescape forums I've provided, and AGAIN in no way did I say that it was a scam by jagex...

It seems sketchy that all of the VERY TRUSTED Membership sellers would decide to start scamming on the same day... Doesn't make sense does it?
And another thing, Jagex's last update for runescape was on 1/11/2012, the same day that all this started...

Dude, Xavia is the one who sold those upgrades. He charged them back, he was the sole supplier for runescape upgrades for the past two weeks. As you can see, he self requested banned on mmoe or w/e. And now he's missing.

Xavia is one of 3 sellers that I've heard of so far, StarScream included.

No, Xavia was the sole supplier for these upgrades. Starscream only bought it from him. Now Xavia just randomly charge backed all of his upgrades. So, everyone that sold his upgrades have to pay for it. And this really sucks for Starscream, second time this happened to him.

So you're saying that all of the 100s of people on the runescape forums who are having the same issue also bought their memberships from Xavia's source?

That's what I'm saying.. Because unless Xavia timed it perfectly with the RS update and sold cards to people who don't even use sythe, including players who use their own store-bought membership cards.. Then I don't think that it's just a coincidence... Jagex had to have made a mistake, there was not 1 single complaint about this problem until the 1/11/2012 update..

Dunno why you still purchase membership cards off Sythe dealers. If it's your main account just pay through CC or paypal...

It's all got to do with jagex tracking the pin and where it was purchased to where the pin ends up.
For example jagex sees that I (seller) bought the pin from my home town in England and it's activated in your (buyer) home town in America. Knows that's not right than fines you (jcoin).

I bought some gold off of a player, and he had this exact problem. He's made a thread on Sythe and is hoping to get his negative Jcoins removed

The people on RS Forums are lying about the payment source. I'm sure they were funded by illegitimate means through the black market. The coincidence in 1/11/12 being the date of an update doesn't mean much to me. After all, it could be one person supplying thousands of upgrades, like people have been suggesting. Believe it or not, that is truly the way the underground PIN market works on other websites, and part of the reason we prefer not to deal with PINs. The actual methods of obtaining PINs are only owned by a tiny handful of people, who sell them out in bulk because they do not want to deal with the hassle.

Does Jagex even have the right to charge you $20 just because you use a membership card originating from a different country? That's like me getting sued for buying a laptop that was made in china... It's not right...
