Zopim vs. PHP Live Chat

What do you guys think is a better live chat service? I know Zopim is kind of industry standard for Runescape gold shops, we all trust it and know it well. But it's expensive if you have a few employees.

What do you think of this alternative? I'll list the features of each.

Price: $20 per agent, per month
Customizable: No, but has some useful API features.

PHP Live Chat (http://codecanyon.net/item/php-live-support-chat/6905905)

Price: $20 one-time payment
Customizable: Yes, and can be implemented in your own website backend where you manage orders - but this also means if your website goes down then your chat does too.

Okay I got lazy comparing the features so I'll stop here. But take a look at both sites... Which do you think is better?

Keep in mind that people trust Zopim. That alone might be worth the high price.

 

I don't really believe the price of Zopim is expensive, of course there are cheaper options like the one you listed. In the customer point of view Zopim would be the better choice. Also this PHP Live Chat widget seems to have a lot of bugs, and Zopim has close to none. So possibly in a future this would make a great alternative, but as of right now Zopim is the better choice.

 

Zopim is too expensive i would just use the one time installment chat. Idk about the trust in zopim but i would still go for the other one.

Honestly, as a customer, I couldn't care less about which livechat software you use, as long as it works, and get a fast response time.

 

there must be someone who has released(Code or software) a livechat for people to use freely with features of site's such as Zopim

I switched from Zopim to Providesupport.com and enjoyed PS. It allowed for more customization and a better look.

 

Looks more like an in-app type thing. Does it work well across websites as well?
