[PhotoShop]How to add ScanLines to your UserBar[CS3]

Hey it's Bewood, and I have helped people on another site with this before and realize it may not look as easy as it really is, so I will be teaching you:

How to add *Scan Lines* to your UserBar on PhotoShop CS3.

First, you need to go to File>New and start a new image, and put the following:
(the 10x10 can be replaced with 4x4, 8x8, etc. Just keep 4-10)

Now, you need to zoom in as far as it will let you go:
(click the magnifying glass, click on the small area of pixels until it reaches the size in the picture)

Then, you need to get the Pencil tool, set it to a size of 1 Pixel, and draw a line from the bottom left corner to the top right:
(any color is fine, but black tends to look better.
also to access the pencil tool, just right click where you see the brush and click on the pencil option)

Now that we have the scanline ready to be saved, this is what you do,:
    Go to Edit>Define Pattern
    [IMG]
Once there, save it as a pattern with a name that you can easily ID it later:

So, you have gotten the pattern saved, now close the scanlines image itself. Doesn't matter if you save it, I never needed the actual image afterward.

Now, open your userbar file, whatever crazy one you got going on, and then do as I say(type):
Go to Blending Options(right click on the layer of the main color/gradient on your userbar and click on Blending Options):
Now go to Pattern Overlay, and select your pattern. You will immediately see the changes made to your userbar:

Play with the scale and opacity for a better result that you might like.

Well I hope this helped, if you don't even know how to make a userbar, Google loves you <3

    Thanks for reading XD

    Thanks for reading :D

It's pretty much the same concept, just select the layer of the image you want to apply scanlines to, and use the pattern overlay Blending Option.
