Phishers sending from [email protected]??

Can they do this? I just got an e-mail about my account being flagged for RWT and they wanted me to log in to appeal it or something but the link was obviously a phishing site. I'm just confused that it came from [email protected]..

 

i dont know how they do this. but i would never click on a click that came from an email, i'd make sure and go to runescape.com and go on from there.

 

Yes, that's a phishing mail and phishers can send mails and put anything they like as a sender's address. E.g. they send you e-mail, which looks like is sent from [email protected], but actually it isn't.

ive had a few emails like that if u click on reply a horrible email usually shows up that u are going to reply to lots of numbers ns hit if i remember correctly

 

Yea you can do that on some websites. they just make the "from" box on emails appear as someone else. if you look at the details of the email i think u can find out who is actually sending it

There is a german website service that offers "spoofing" of emails, it's suppose to be a legit thing that companies can use but people use it to phish

 

Everyone can do this from his home computer, and its not hard at all.
Yet, I will not post how and I ask others to do the same.
