Red Rings Of Death

I recently have gotten the RRoD.
I have an Xbox360 Elite so i was like, wth when it happened..
ive waited 3 days than tried again and it didnt work..
I really dont want to sent it in..
so..
Any ideas.
Please Help me

Call Microsoft, they'll give you a couple steps if it doesn't work then, they'll send you a box to put it in and you send it back, and its 100% free, the RRoD is covered by a 3 year warranty on All xbox 360s.

 

O this is the first time it happened to me..
so i didnt know i could get a new one..
i thought i had to buy the warranty..

You're welcome, Ya.. just call them, for once there robot talking person is actually good unlike most companies, but ya, all RRoD are a 3 year warranty, and the 360 came out in 2006 sometime, so i doubt it's passed. Glad to help

 

A common cause of the Rrod is overheating. Yes Microsoft has a extended policy for people who get the Rrod, but once you send it in it could take weeks before you get it back. i suggest you buy a cooler for when your new xbox arrives and DONT get a cooler that shares the same power source as the xbox as this can cause a short. i hope this helped thanks.

 

Ehh when i sent mine in i got it back within 6 days, brand new system, and some coolers void the warranty...

 

You can allways get a repair kit of ebay, my mate got one and he got it working fine.

 

its pretty basic to fix the issue, its called the x-mod clamp and some new thermal paste. you can do it yourself, but then you void your warranty cuz you opened ur xbox but at least you dont have to wait 1month. If it was me i just send it in and wait the month.

 

So if i unscrew my xbox..
does that mean i cant return it?

there are microsoft stickers insde the case that when you open they break so they know if you have messed with it which voids the waranty, so just send it in and get it fixed for free. plus they give u a free month xbox live for taking so long. I had the rrod and I sent mine it and it took about 3 weeks. They dont actually return your orignal one. They send one that is alreeady been fixed, I know this cuz the serial number on mine was different and the time zone set on it was UK when I from US, but it works just fine.

if you send it in, you save 1 week worth of waiting by packaging it urself and sending it to them, I didnt (waited for the box to package it) and it took 3 weeks.
