Permanently banned after selling 500m.

I recently was banned selling 500m osrs to a popular gold selling site, I wont say who in case it's against the rules to say or whatever but I thought I'd give a heads up to be careful.

It was my first time using this particular buyer as they were offering a higher price than my usual buyer site. My usual buyer site would do 100m at a time each trade but this buyer site insisted on the whole 500m in one trade and I thought nothing of it but 20 mins after the trade my account was perm banned for RWT... So I believe the large trade in one go got my account banned, what do you guys think?. I have sold several bil over the past few years on this account and was never banned until now.

that can be the case for these situations as sad as it is I am certain that you will turn into a new blossom and be able to use this as motivation to create a new account and be able to RWT again, however try to ban appeal for it!

unlucky my dude may i ask if it was an aged account or a low lvl ? and did u trade in lumby or f2p

 

that's one of the risks that we always need to take when doing rwt dude. unlucky.

btw. did you use your main? or a crappy level3?

 

I've contacted the buyer and they said their account they used for the trade was also banned. My account wasn't new and neither was theirs they said so it looks like maybe one of us was flagged and being monitored and it was a case of wrong place at the wrong time.

Can I ask for advise going forward? how should I proceed in selling gold in the future? Will my IP address and all on my accounts on it be flagged for potential RWT now?. Should I train up a new alt specifically for trading gold to buyers, fyi none of my farming accounts were banned only the account used in the gold trade was banned.

Well i'm deciding if it's worth the risk anymore because if I start trading gold between my accounts Jagex might presume I'm about to sell it. Not sure how their system works in this way though, do they ban on a presumption or do you have to do the act to get banned?. I don't want to grind for months just to get banned before I can sell the gold on.

 

it's mostly debatable how they do bans in general because there's really no way to confirm(unless you're a Jagex employee; but I personally don't think so. But regardless, my ISP gives me different IP addresses after like every restart of my modem so there's that.

 

This happened to me as well a year or two ago, unfortunately. Big time gold trading website, based out of Asia, that advertises here on Sythe. I always try to trade with smaller scale people now. I do not meet them in Lumb. I rarely meet them in F2P.

 

Unique in game location. Trade in fractions. Make sure accounts are aged and have some ok stats. Preferably have a similar geolocation.

 

Sell to legit traders here and not to gold websites.

 

Sorry to hear that brother. I also wonder if you're banned do they flag your IP. I would try to sell to smaller sites/trusted individuals, don't do it in F2P, ask for them to put up some shitty items in return, and make sure you both are not on lvl 3's

 

This sucks, sorry to hear. Personally I would start up again and take different measures, new IP, dont trade f2p or lummy and certainly not off a new or unlevelled account

I'm going to assume that the gold website OR your account were already flagged, as you mentioned you have sold billions.

Unfortunately, the selling of gold is the one place where Jagex will perm ban you in a heartbeat. You have to be extremely careful.

I have given away 100's of millions to friends and stuff, and I never have any issues being banned.

They know you sold the gold.
