Maul Or Rapier?

My stats are,
80 atk
88 str
75 def
70 pray
99 range
75 mage.

staying at 75 def, def was quested.

i plan to pk more, but since i dont have venegeance or 99 str, rapier would be better however i see the maul hittin BEAST

 

If you do slayer/some gwd you should buy rapier

If you only pk get a maul its fun to pk with

 

Personally I prefer the rapier, but I use the maul for things like waterfiends etc to collect charms

Rapier is a better first choice, as you can use for PVP, bossing, slayer, quests etc. and it is a great 'all-around', versatile weapon.

Maul is much better for PVP, huge hits vs. monsters with weakness to crush (such as WF's and KQ), or Revenant hunting etc.

It really all depends on what you do the most, but if you do all sorts of things in RS and do not ONLY Pk, then Rapier would be the better choice for a first chaotic by far

If you don't have vengeance good luck getting rapier kills.

with a crossbow if you do it right, you don't get the combat delay as it was used by the crossbow so you just hammerfist a mual from nowhere.

 

Rapier is more for slayer/PvM, but it also wrecks in PvP.

Maul is mainly for PvP.

At your levels, I would suggest the rapier, because you will eventually get bored/tired of PvP, and want to do something else. That's when the rapier comes in. And plus, you can always do more dung and get another chaotic weapon.

It depends what aspect your going for, Obviously the rapier has the lowest str bonus but it is most usefull allround, The maul is obviously like a big tank in your hand, can hit 400+ with your levels

 

Get a Rapier first and then a Maul. Rapier is good for everything and Maul is mainly for PVP fun.

 

deffinitly get rapier first, it has many advantages around runescape.

It's gotta be rapier! Absolutely great all rounder. Can really do some decent damage, especially if you've Ardy cloak.

Maul's great fun for PvP, but pretty awful for everything else. Definitely rapier!

 

I find the maul a lot of fun but the rapier is the most well rounded chaotic in my opinion

Maul is better for pking. Quite fun with it since you can get huge hits.

Rapier is a better all rounder weapon in my opinion. But it is mainly for mains who like to slay.
