What do you think about Bullying?

I personally hate bullies, would possibly jump into the scene if I saw a dude bullying someone for no reason.

What are your opinions about bullying and why do you think people do this?

 

Bullying is a major problem in our schools and for our kids. I think it's an early form of violent and aggressive behavior.

Why do bullies bully? They are concerned with something they don't possess and will use brute force and harassment by getting what they want, demand power over others, and feel pain inside, perhaps because of their own shortcomings.

On a personal side, I have experienced bullying once in the 7th grade when some big fat kid wanted my iPod nano. I told him it's mine, and I wont give it to him. He used brute force to take it away from me and I felt really depressed for about three days. My father eventually found out that I have been bullied and asked what had happened. I told him that I have been bullied by some kid and he took my iPod. The next day we went over to the kids house and my father got into an argument with his father about my iPod. The kids father said his son didn't take it and my father shouldn't come back and make false accusations. Finally, about four days after the encounter, the kid brings the iPod to school and says its his. I call my father and tell him he has it. After the bell had rung, I ran home and we went over to the kids house and before his father could even open the door, my dad knocked him out retrieved my iPod and I wasn't allowed to use it until I had done something about this kid. It just so happened to be the kid moved schools for no apparent reason I'm guessing. Last year at my high school varsity basketball game, I met the kid once again and he was on the opposing team. The opposing coach asked the kid to guard me, and I gave him 34 that night, my way of saying payback's a bitch.

I was never really the aggressive type, but I do believe something should be done about bullying/E-Bullying.

 

Perfect, solve violence with violence.


e-bullying is pretty funny a lot of the time because the people that it occurs to bring it on themselves. Tampon girl, brought it on herself and other people who are just crazy attention whores. Then when they get the attention and they don't like it, they start whining.

I also think people who get bullied are people who don't stand up for themselves and are weak. People will always pick on the weaker people. It happens in the workforce all the time. If you're too weak to speak up then everyone will walk all over you and you'll get nowhere. We live in a socially Darwinist society where the weak feed the strong and allow them to advance themselves, and if kids aren't taught to stand up for themselves they'll be the ones that get 'bullied' out in the real world. Do I think bullying is right? No, of course not but there are solutions to it that involve education of children.

 

Got back what was rightfully mine to begin with, sounds perfect to me. Plus his dad was being an asshole to begin with, so my dad shoulda knocked his ass out the first time.

 

Bullying hasn't decreased with increased awareness. Education (or lack thereof) isn't the reason people don't stand up to it.

 

They should look for possible bullies in schools and try to help them with their problems before they grow up and bother other people

 

I agree with what Nero has said about attention whores, especially over the internet, if you go out of your way to be an attention seeker then don't bitch when the attention you get is negative i.e. tampon girl.

 

I hate bullies and try to intervien if someone is getting harrassed. In high school it causes kids to go crazy and shoot up they school.

 

I get bullied daily, they verbally harass me, they kick me, they punch me, they spit on me no other reason than to show off, i am weak but that does not mean they have the right to bully me, and thats why all these shootings happen, I can't do nothing about the bullies as if i tell my school teacher they will just Punch me in the face for being a snitch, Bullying sucks.

 

But is this true? More likely there was already underlying conditions exasperated by the situation.

 

Well I think that if someone is pushed so far, they will break. I already know how it goes, I wasn't a bully but people did bug me cus I had earrings.

 

People often bully so they look bigger and have more power over people. I've never been bullied personally(probably because I'm pretty big - strong not fat) but I think it's just wrong as emotionally hurting someone for no reason or because of their appearance etc is just wrong.

 

Basically if you're bigger and stronger. I noticed 90% of bullies also are in sports picking on the non-athletes. At least when I was in H/S that was how it went.

 

It's more of a first impression thing. A guy tried to bully me in high school grade 7, told me to 1v1 him in the fight I was around medium height but fairly stronger than 95% of the grade. Punched him in the face and choked him. He hasn't touched me again till this day, although he still dangles year 7s on balconies on 3 story buildings like MJ. >_<

 

I hate bullies.. what do they achieve anyway? Nothing.

Bullying will always exist we humans just can't get along

 

That first impression thing is really true. A lot of bullies will usually try to target newer or quieter people(who keep to themselves) to take advantage of them not knowing whether or not they'll act out the threats they make. If you fit the description in that last sentence and/or move to a new school, where you know nobody, and then someone or some group walks up to you in a bully-like manner, what is your first impression of them going to be like?

What's funny is how much 'nicer'(compared to the threats they make, etc.) some bullies really are when the ones who are usually in a group are alone or you are one of the few who stands up to them 1-on-1.

 

I think it's weird how now I keep seeing so many bully commercials is it really that bad in h/s's these days?

 

Very bad, year 7-11 I watched people getting bullied physically and verbally every single day, in lessons, on break and even before and after school. People used to cry in lesson and the teachers used to send them out. ( the one who was crying! ) This was rife among the male students and the female students. It was nothing to do with race or gender, all though gays used to get bullied a hell of a lot. It is only now 3 years on that I actually see how wrong it was to just watch the other kids getting bullied. I don't expect many other schools to be as bad as the cases in mine, such as locking people in toilets and assaulting them, but I did go to a very rough school.
Teachers need to ensure the safety of the students and start taking more action. Worst you'd get in my school was an hour detention and a phone call home, to which you would answer and pretend to be your parent.
