People using old threads in new sections

Some large market users are using old EoC threads and having them moved to the new OSRS sections, and then using those threads so that they have a high post count. This is an unfair advantage, as I for one have kept my questing thread with over 1k posts in the EoC section, and started a new one that has gained 200+, but since then people have moved old EoC threads over and used them to make sure that they are near the top of the 'most viewed'. This is really misleading as they haven't had a successful thread in OSRS questing/skilling, they have in the other runescape in the past.

Thoughts?

 

I agree with you, this is unfair to your service and others services and all threads that are in the 2007 services section or any 2007 related section for that matter should have to meet a requirement of being posted after the release of 2007.

 

um.. jack im pretty sure you do the same exact fucking thing with that questing thread...

Look at his 07 questing thread it was created February 23rd 2013 after the release of 07 so clearly he didn't transfer his Eoc questing service thread over.

 

Nope. I don't have a problem with people re-opening old threads in their section that they were in at the time, but having threads from a few years back to current being xferred to the OSRS market isn't really fair.

The majority of threads are since 2007 though, so runescape was nothing like this. A lot of questing was done with ovls/choatics/curses/godswords etc. There's a massive difference.

 

regardless if what was used, its pre-eoc. it's still the same game, only thing that has changed is less quest,s and less items.

 

I don't see why it really matters, people shouldn't be using service upon post count but upon trust.

 

I 100% agree with the OP on this situation. It is unacceptable to move old threads to different sections in order to gain an advantage. Threads from EOC should NEVER be moved to 07.

For example, I have very popular old BH threads / regular RS EOC threads from 2007-2010. I would never even think to transfer these over to 2007 forums. Make this 100% against the rules, move all threads which were transferred this way. It is an unfair advantage plain and simple.

 

weren't you one of the guys going apeshit about the large gold threads getting deleted back when they reset that section for anyone having to many pages?

 

Let me know which threads are exploiting this. There should be no threads in any 07 market section with posts prior to February 2013

 

I agree completely. Different market, different thread.

That's because:

A) It's not a new market.
B) Only very large threads were affected.

 

I agree with you on all accounts, it's misleading and unfair to those who earn their views and posts starting new. This should be taken care of :O!

 

07 scape isn't a new market, it's an old market, brought back from the dead.

 

It's technically a new market, because it was a completely new start. It's purely based on an old market.

 

07 scape is a new market and people should start from fresh. Although so far, I have not seen any single person abusing this though.

Its good to set a rule about this in the 07 market nonetheless.

 

I've reported the one thread in the 07 services thread, and believe it or not it's run by 4 staff members, the 'Staff Skilling Service'.

 

That's just silly, and everyone wonders why all these kids are getting scammed in 97 scape, because you basicly put all the trusted people on the same level as these newfag scammers

Oh, I see. I was under the impression that this was allowed, as it always has been for other sections e.g moving a gold-section thread to the item section. However, I can understand the interest of fairness since 07 is considered a new market by some. I've gone ahead and split up my thread
