A completely online banking platform

How are online banking platforms made? For example, if you wanted to create your own bank account managed by yourself is this possible?

Like if I made a website that runs my own banking platform how would I transfer my own money from my bank account with my retail bank to that custom bank account?

Would this need to be regulated? Is it legal?

If anyone is confused, I'm basically asking this:

I currently bank with HSBC. Is it possible for me to create my very own bank account, without HSBC, but this time by myself (I will be my own bank)?

To answer your transfer question, it's through ACH, Google it.

You'll hit many FINCEN regulation problems and legal walls well before you get to making anything that involves the word "bank".

 

Yeah, it's called a wallet.

It's not something I would attempt - just wondering if it's possible. After all, the banks rip us off so hard it would be nice to have complete control of your own money. Doesn't look like thats possible lol.
