Paypal/Stripe/Credit card Charge backs? How to protect?

    hello all.

So soon I will be launching my website and I will be selling goods to users. I have everything set up and ready to go, including payment methods. One of these payment methods is paypal. I am worried that users will buy a large amount of an item from me and then charge back.. which I hear happens a lot with RSGP

    How do I protect?

Also, if I add a pop up to my website that ask to "Accept TOS", as well as add it to the user account creation page, and state in the Terms and Conditions/TOS that "no paypal charge back are allowed and all transactions are final", and they accept, Can this be used to win any dispute, along with providing proof I sent the user a virtual good?

If not, how else can I go about this? This is a professional website but the best infor I have found on the subject is about the TOS.

    thanks

If they chargeback claiming they never received the GP, you will need to provide paypal with evidence they did. Video recording/screenshots of the trade and chat should be sufficient enough to win this.

If they say they never made the transaction, e.g. got hacked, you will need evidence it was in fact them. You could require a picture of the customer with both an ID in hand as well as a note briefly stating the trade.

I'm not sure if customers accepting a TOS will help any, certainly not if they claim it wasn't them that made the transaction.

Stripe doesn't support our business model fyi.

Don't waste your time with them, I already tried.

paypal? I am not selling gold. What if I was selling crypto? Would a confirmation via blockchain, as well as receipts the user filled help?

    -Say i had blockchain confirmation
-receipt that shows their wallet address, that they must enter
-and a "virtual signature"? (a form they fill out that must match the name on the card in paypal.. If they dont match ill not go through with the trade).

    any ideas?

Paypal and stripe do not support cryptocurrency trades.

You'll find yourself perm limited the second they find out its for cryptocurrency.

hmm.. well if they don't support crypto. and if they don't support rsgp, then is there anything I can do for cash payment wise? :/

starting to get worried I won't be able to take cash without worrying about chargebacks

If your concerned about chargebacks I would recommend that you only accept BTC & cryptocurrency then liquidate it to your bank through an exchange like coinbase.com

Skrill is probably the next best thing but they don't approve new Runescape merchants anymore & still do have disputes/chargebacks.

ah well I'm not a RS merchant.. this is just selling crypto directly to users. I was thinking about finding a way to just accept visa on my site and offer no refunds period. If a user wants to complain that I didn't provide a good or service, then ill provide evidence of the digital transaction, and if they claim it was fraud, well, then that can't placed on me. It wouldn't be my fault if there card was stolen

Like Bus said. The best way to protect yourself from PayPal / Stripe / Creditcard charge backs is to simply not accept them. Accept BTC instead.

Bitcoin, western union are the only payments I accept from most users as they are much safer.

Paypal/Stripe/Credit card Charge backs? How to protect?

I know thread is a bit old, but does anyone have some advice when it comes to getting back on PayPal? They had my account closed because I got scammed by two buyers who filed a chargeback for bitcoins I sold them. They told PayPal for what it is for and they limited my account permanently based on that. Sucks too since many of my buyers want to use PayPal, but hate when these people abuse the system.

I tried stripe, but they denied my application because of my business model. Hard to open up a merchant account too when your business model is high risk too.

Tried to contact PayPal, but they won't budge on getting my account reinstated. Tried to create a new account, but they limited it days later.

Came across the idea of stealth from this guide: Ebay & PayPal Incognito Stealth eBook PDF but is it safe to do? Anyone have experience with stealth?

Paypal is very risky, in your place, I've put credit card and bitcoin as payment method.
