    PayPal question?

Earlier I logged into my PayPal account, and it says in a red box near the top, "Your account access is limited.", it shows the reason why, and the date they limited it, and what I can/can't do while it's limited. I already know why this has happened, and I'd just like to know if they can take the limit off if I discuss it with them on the phone. I've e-mailed them about it and received a generic response, which is why I think a phone conversation would be better.

And to anyone wondering, the limit was added because they thought a third party had accessed my account when that isn't the truth at all. I have VPN software installed on my computer and accidentally left it on while accessing my account on PayPal, which probably looked suspicious.

    So my question is:
Does anyone think a phone conversation will clear this up? Friends who have experience with PayPal said it will, but they'll ask a lot of questions regarding my use of the account, which is sales, purchases, etc. Not really sure if it's going to sound good if I say "I've been selling RuneScape accounts on a black market website", so I need someone to give me advice on what to tell them.

    PayPal question?

Ya a phone convo will increase your odds. Just try to think of an excuse or better way of saying " I sell RS accounts". Make it sound more tactful than that, but as long as you do that, they SHOULD be able to help you out.

    PayPal question?

If you're over 18, then I'd definitely suggest a phone call. It might sort things out. Just tell them you sell virtual goods. It's more vague and they hopefully won't be too suspicious.

If you're under 18, get a parent or a guardian to talk to them.

    PayPal question?

I'm over 18, and I'm offering them everything possible to prove it wasn't accessed by a third party. I have the IP ranges my VPN uses to prove that it was me accessing it, and not a third party. I'll give them everything they ask for as long as they take that limit off my account. Anyway, I'll call them in a bit and post back with the results.

    Posting back with results.

Well, the phone call was a success. The lady fully understood what had happened and removed the limit from my account. Thanks for encouraging me to call, guys.
