Alligator Skin wallet or Louis Vuitton branded wallet

I know that most people say that LV wallets are high quality , durable, and will last for a long time. Well I'm looking for one that would last me up to 10-15 years or maybe more. I'm not looking into buying a cheap wallet that will last me a few years because my guess wallet is already failing me, the credit card slots are worn and ripped and useless but im still using it until it gets replaced.

I looked further in the alligator skin wallet which is about the same price of a louis buitton wallet but no brand name and i'm buying it direct. I have done my research but probably lousy at at, that the alliator skinned wallets are more durable than what louis vuitton uses?

A full alligator wallet would cost me $600 plus tax and insured/ signature shipping as well.
