help buying a new laptop

Ok I need to get a new laptop that can handle editing HD video. I record gameplay of consoles in hd my current comp laps even when I put the preview window on "preview quaility" I want something that will be able to playback with out lagging so it doesnt take me all day to edit a clip. What are some specs that I would need to do this. Also I am willing to spend up to $1500

 

Ide honestly get a desktop for that.. it would be a LOT better (you could have i7 and all the new jazz). On a $1500 laptop it would weigh a lot, be bulky, and have shit battery life.

But to answer your question, look for a Q9000 quad processor, 4 gigs of RAM. Or you could look for the highest possible Duo (refer to the model number, for example, P8600) Don't worry about the graphics, movie editing is mainly CPU intensive.
