Why Nikola Tesla was the greatest geek who ever lived

In my opinion, Nikola Tesla was an unique visionary unlike any we have previously encountered.. he embraced science to father many of the devices used today, and had a beautiful mind far beyond its time. This great man should be honored globally.

Have you seen The Prestige? David Bowie does a very good Tesla, although fabricated quite a bit.

 

I find Hitler more interesting, but that's just me.

 

No, I've heard about it though. If you type in 'Tesla' on Netflix you'll find a good film on him that entertains most highlights throughout his life.

Hitler wasn't a visionary nor geek the way Tesla was.. I don't see how you could bring him into the conversation.

Edison was a huge dick. He shouldn't be as revered by American society as he is. Most of his inventions were not his and he stifled early 20th century inventiveness to the point where things could be more advance than they are now. He heavily abused the patent system and is pretty much the Steve Jobs of the early 1900's.

Tesla's work and life is something I've been obsessing over quite recently, and for good cause. Tesla brought ideas to life hundreds of years before his time (most of which were ostracized by a capitalist-driven society), and died in debt. It's insane to think the dedication he gave to his work and how selfless he was.
